nose: interesting and subtle nose of cherry, cedar, and mint notes. a bit tight, but opens up a bit and is very interesting to smell
taste: nice feel of cherry, cranberry, black currant, and mint
overall: very nice and elegant syrah. Long on the palate but doesn't provide as long of a finish as the elegance would make you think. A really nice syrah

Under screwcap. Really wanted to like this, having enjoyed GWC wines a lot in the past. Had with Jason Hagen, and we pretty much agreed. Acidity seems too sharp for fruit, making us think there was acid added... maybe too much...a bit of stewed prunes too on the palate and nose. A taste of salt water, ocean water, on the finish. Drinkable, but with lots of flaws that cry out and make you ask, why???? Maybe these wines are made to be drunk like right now... but I'm not sure ageing is going tot help.

This was my bottle. It was different than the others. Some found pomegranite, cranberry, we were striving to find a term that connotes sour or tart. A couple found acetone.

This bottle was not flawed, see prior tasting note... Big, alcoholic, a little disjointed. Lots of big fruit, but hot. Not my favorite Garretson. A couple of notches below the 2002.

Fruit is becoming a bit leaner, but still shows violets, vanilla, blackberry and clove. Tannins are resolving.

Aromatics of smoke, violets and blackberry with tar on the palate. Higher acid than I was expecting with slightly tart finish.

T. Edward Wines - Fall 06; 8/23/2006-8/24/2006: it was a pleasure to meet Mat, and taste his wines.
not exactly the style i am used to - but these wines are fun!
porty sweet fruit, lush and thick, ripe wine. lots of layers of fruit here - and good structure keeping it together

Bad bottle, flat, no fruit. Didn't seem to be heat damaged, but showed some of the symptons.
