Opened and a light sulfur on the nose, cleared off quickly with air, leaving the Cherry notes. Taste was clean, Cherry and light earth notes, finish was medium and clean, everyone enjoyed it.

14.1% alcohol. Light cherry color. Initially a bit reticent, but it opened up gorgeously as the wine came up from cellar temperature. Glorious bouquet of red cherry, flowers, mushrooms, and spice. In the mouth, linear and extremely precise, with focused cherry fruit buttressed by impressive complexity. Not fully secondary and retaining very lively acidity. This is just fantastic. A

Ten years old now, and it's still quite tightly wound. Pretty red cherry color, no bricking at the rim of the glass. Nose of red cherry, flowers, baking spice, minerals, and tea. It unwound over the course of four hours. The palate was initially tight, but it unfolded gorgeously and really sang after being open for three hours. Pure red fruit, with layers of complex earth, spice, tea, and floral notes. A deft touch of acidity and a gracefully persistent finish. Just superb. A

Was super excited for this wine, but drinking it after tasting the lineup of 2010 burgundies eirler that day may not have been the best idea. Nevertheless, this wine ended up being rather nice but not with deep complexion, and accompanied the strong salmon very well. At $30 not the best, but on sale it was a good deal. Still left me wanting to try more from WesMar

Opened not decanted. Taken to Wayfare Tavern, SF. Needed about 30 minutes of air. Pretty floral nose of delicate flowers. Cherry and raspberry on the palate with a light citrus finish. Very Good.

Elegant and very delicate in both flavor and texture. Strawberry, citrus, crushed tea leaves, and a bit of black olive: as the wine opens in the glass each taste offers a slightly different nuance. Lovely.

Opened not decanted. Taken to Sidebar in Oakland. Dinner with MBC and S&R. Feminine in style. Pale red, translucent and somewhat cloudy in color. Actually looks like strawberry juice. Very light in body with soft strawberry notes and an orange / tangerine finish. Terrific wine. Very Good.

This is a glorious wine showing incredibly well now. It may be my favorite WesMar ever. This vineyard is so lovely and feminine in its expression. Red cherry color. Soaring bouquet, like all the WesMar wines. Packed with red cherry, black cherry, baking spice, flowers, and a hint of orange peel. In the mouth, a picture of feminine Pinot that packs major fruit and complexity. The fruit explodes on the palate, but it leads to compelling layers of complex flavors, like black tea, minerals, and a lovely floral note. Strong acidity. Gorgeously smooth and long finish that goes for a seriously long ride. Perfectly balanced with a luscious texture. Great wine. Drinking well now, but it will last for several more years. A

In the glass medium ruby to the rim that offers up a nose of strawberry, cherries, cinnamon and oak. In the mouth a feminine wine showing cherry, red berries and light oak on a soft supple mouth feel that has a great finish. A very, very, very nice RRV pinot.

Popped and poured, but drank over four hours. Light-med ruby red. Still a surprisingly soft/delicate nose for a WesMar. Seems simpler now, like it lost some primary without gaining much secondary yet. Wait two years on others.

Opened not decanted. Taken to the Wood Tavern in Oakland. Starts out somewhat tight and within 30 minutes starts to soften. Soft, feminine with plush fruit notes of spice, flowers, and tangerines; ends with a orange / tangerine rind finish. Very Good.

Opened and decanted approximately 10-15 minutes. Big nose of spice with touches of clove; cranberry red in color, clear throughout and throwing a little sediment. On the palate: very light in body with an overall sweet profile; very feminine in character with a citrus, and peppery, orange tea finish. Very Good.

Hans Kreuger Selections: When I drink a wine like this, I don't understand the craze for all these extracted, huge pinots. This wine is what I look for in pinot. The color is so light as almost to be a dark rose. The nose delicate, pretty, elegant, but full of flavors, each whiff a little different, but reminding me of a spring day in a strawberry field. The palate continues in the same way, as does the long, haunting finish. It's so light, but makes such an impression. Gorgeous bottle of wine. 93-94

Needs some time to come together...agree with the note below about the stems...this may well integrate nicely over time. This is a youngster, and I would not touch for another 2yrs.

Lots of cherry in this pinot, supported by rose petal, cinnamon and orange pith. Does have a noticable stem inclusion element that has a slight green-ness to it. Classic RRV fruit profile, but needs more time to come together and hopefully lose the green-ness. drink 2008-2011. 87 pts.
