  • Much improved since the last bottle, pretty nose showing a little development and plenty of fruit still, the palate is giving less but opens up after an hour or so in the glass to reveal some good fruit. This should improve a bit more but is ready now

  • Drank with Sticky and Mel.
Decent Red Burgundy with substance, but not a lot of perfume.

  • Very Good.

Clear, medium, ruby to broad garnet rim.
Medium (-), fully developed nose of strawberry, cinnamon, blackcurrant leaf.
Dry, medium (+) acid, medium fully resolved sapid tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, medium flavour intensity of strawberry, cinnamon and resin. Medium length.

Very good, in balance, tannins would have been hard when younger, but now have calmed down, allowing the acid and sapid tannins to balance each other out.
Drink now, not suitable for further aging.

    Cork.

  • Quite a pretty nose with a lovely mixture of dark cherry and earth, the palate let's it down, lacking some depth of flavour and ripeness of fruit, it's a little charmless on the finish, ok, maybe a bit more age could generate a bit more interest, but there's not much fruit there to be sure if that.

  • First of several bottles by this producer. Garnet color lightening to terracotta at the rim. Slow creeping legs. The nose is forest berries, chocolate, vanilla, some oak and spice. On the palate raspberries, chocolate, and cherries, plenty of acidity and really nice length. Seems to be at peak and pop 'n' pouring was the right call as air is braising it a bit. No cold storage here just Canadian climes. Delicious :-)

  • This is a weird wine. The consistency from bottle to bottle is poor. This bottle was dominated by sour cherry notes period after which it was hard to taste anything. I vacuumed the bottle and on day two it tasted much better. The sour cherry was all gone but, while the wine was enjoyable, it did not have any classic Burgundy flavors. I will leave my remaining bottles alone for a while and see what happens the next time.

  • A bit more fruit in evidence than the last bottle but quite acidic and sharp at the front end. Mellowed a bit as the wine warmed up. The suggested drinking window is to 2013 and i am not sure if this wine has passed the peak or is still improving. Will try another bottle in 3 to 6 months.

  • I agree with Mrbuzz. Nothing wrong here but seems to be missing something. Very muted nose and flavors. Hopefully just closed up and needs some more bottle age to open up a bit and shine. I will wait a year before trying again.

  • Not a proper note as too far hence....

Drank at another Sunday dinner at Farm & Fisherman

Drinking well nice balance of fruit & minerality - my style of Burg, unlike the Nuit St Georges from the prior week

  • Might be closing up?...as it is not much better than the '05 Savigny-lès-Beaune Vieilles Vignes that I've been drinking. No Vosne spice....more dark berry, currants and blackberries....lots of dark rich earth, tight minerals, some soy and meat iron. Seems to have some nice florals and dusty chalky spices underneath....and is good on cherry skin and orange acidity, as well as weight. Would like more Vosne spice...but seems to be an ok wine that needs a lot more time. Hold for a few more years. Factor in this was more than twice to price of the SlB...not good qpr.

  • Clear ruby tinge of purple at the rim. Pretty nose of raspberry and spice. Palate similar profile with spice and red fruit and light touch tannin and bright acidity. Improved over the course of the evening and still drinking nicely on the second night. Drinking nicely now but no doubt will continue to improve a bit.
