Wine meet - Lars @ St Paul de Vence: Still young, powerful, red and dark berries, noticeable but soft tannins, great balance and still some upside. Lovely.

Opened with the Tokyo gang shortly after flying in. No decanter and likely a bit jet lagged. Not surprisingly, it has a reticent, restrained nose, hinting at dark red and blue fruits with some but limited floral notes. Fairly powerful in the mouth, rich rather than silky, again darker fruit predominates; clearly this is still in its primary stage but it is not at all monolithic at this very young age. I felt there are layers and layers waiting to unfold. All agreed it has the structure and the fruit to evolve into a very good wine, perhaps a great village level wine. Will wait a few years before checking in again but so far I am pleased with this wine's development.

Delivers the goods as expected - at peak now. Lovely nose of black cherry and violets. Very smooth tannins, good acidity and balance on the palate. A round yet somewhat masculine interpretation of Chambolle.

This is beginning to be open for business... violets, raspberries and hints of bacon on the nose. Earthy and sweet on the palate, good core of fruit. Quality-wise this is between villages and 1er cru.

Animale on the nose, with dark red fruits, earth, and oak. This is robust, and broodish, with an edge of fresh beets to the briary red fruits here. Masculine and edgy, this has power to burn but is short on finesse. Perhaps time will sort out some of the edginess. Judged as a villages wine, this would be very good indeed, even considering how easy it was (relatively speaking) to make outstanding wine in the 2005 vintage, but I expected more from Dujac, and was somewhat disappointed.

Nice dark red color. Took about 2-3 hours in the decanter to open up and then shut down again after about 5. While it was open it displayed pure cherries, pine needles and some medicine on the nose. In the mouth it is elegant with nice acid and fine but present tannins. Medium length. While this is not as massive or fruit-driven as other 05's I have had it is impressive for its complexity and refinement. As this were my first Dujac it got me very curious about his other cuvee's. As far as QPR goes this wine is very good, but not worth its pricetag, but then again what burgundies are... just gotta live with it...

at Hugo's watching Manchester United defeating Milan 3:2 (At Hugo's): (at Hugo's watching Manchester United defeating Milan 3:2) lovely aroma that enjoyed us for long time. Taste was less impressive than the aroma, but still enjoyable. (as if a bit diluted).

Dark red in color. Knockout nose of red fruit and soil. Silky smooth on the palate. Killer village Burgundy.
