This has developed better than expected. Medium-bodied, elegant, soft and refined, you find flowers, earth, fennel and red fruits on the nose. Light in weight, the soft-textured red fruits finish nicely on the palate. This is close to fully developed.

Late Mar 2020: purple color; simple red and dark fruit nose; dull and restrained on the palate.
Is it that La Cabanne 2006 and my taste buds simply do not work together? Bought 6 bottles of this wine en primeur. All the ones I have tasted so far (1 bottle is still in storage) lacked to give me any enjoyment. While the bouquet/nose offers a good-very good showing it’s that lame, numb palate which gives the feeling to drink liquid paper. 80/100
Addendum - half of the wine remained in bottle with a stopper; tasted again after 2 days storage at room temperature: nose of slightly oxidized dark and red fruits; the wine has opened up, now there’s definitely some texture and a certain juiciness; however, strong bitter flavors don’t let arise much pleasure. 81/100
2nd Addendum - after 4 days the wine now is fully open; the nose stayed on the given level; on the palate the bitterness has vanished almost completely. 83-84/100
So the impression at day 4 gives me some hope for my last remaining bottle. I‘ll keep it at least for another 10 years in storage. Stay tuned :-).

Not the finest expression of Pomerol but then again priced accordingly. Lacks complexity and depth but is a serviceable wine. May be better in a couple of years. Will try again tomorrow.

Blackcurrent, ripe cherry little tobacco and a smidge of chocolate. Med+ tannins. I would have expected this to have settled but tannins are still very pleasent. Unsure if this will improve. I would say yes. Long decant or wait another couple of years. No longer. Finish a bit rough

Traditional turkey dinner, early Oct 2013: not decanted; purple red color; not much aromas, flavors and other impressions to report; rather numb.
Bought six bottles and drank three so far. All without aromas and flavors. Will stay away another 5 years from the next bottle and hope for improvement.

D1h. Dark garnet red, yellow tinged, 5.5. Mature airy meaty, forest floor. Harmonious palate, almost resolved tannins, well balanced, more tertiary stuff than fruit, elegant finish. Drink now-onwards.

Bu en succ.
Pour le prix, franchement décevant.
Mince et vert, court en finale, on passe!

Juicy, spicy, the acidity in the finish is a bit hefty.

Early Oct 2011 at a BBQ: crimson red color; nearly not detectable aromas/flavors in nose and mouth; medium/full body; smooth texture.
This wine has a good mouthfeel but (at least at the moment) no aromas/flavors to offer. Hope that will improve over time but I have my doubts.

2008 Vintage Tasting Union Des Grand Crus de Bordeaux, Great Wines of Bordeaux, USA Tour New York City (Metropolitan Pavilion): The 2006 was being poured as this chateau lost all of their 2008 to fire, the 2006 was showing more animal and barnyard funk as well as more tannins, as you would expect, from 2006. A nice wine showing terroir and more strength than some of the fruity and plush 08s.
