The cork came out in 2 pieces just like my last bottle so I am going to raise a complaint with the vineyard LOL. scored this a 92 last time, and we're down to a 90. Give it time to open and the wine is fragrant on the nose. The palate has chocolate, blackberry, blueberry, and some syrupy texture that gives way to some tannins and acidity. It's not bad, but not stellar; drink now as it is not getting better and passing its prime.

Opened last night and the cork came out in 2 pieces. Despite that, the wine has held up quite nicely with a fruit forward, right Bank Bordeaux. The nose was expressive and after opening allowing the amount of funk to air out, it was quite enjoyable, and tannins are almost fully resolved. Nobody here disliked it but IMHO it is a 'drink now' wine. This is one of my favorite vineyards and they make great wines for the price
A real disappointment. This wine has passed its maturity long time ago if there was a peak at all. Leather dominating all other flavors which is not bad in general, but this wine was just not mine. We also drank the Le Merle de Peby as well as the Peby Faugeres along side and none of these wines could really convince me to revisit this winery.

PnP, 55F. Deep, dark red. Cassis and some blackberry on nose. Rough tannins dominate early impression. Probably better with some breathing and warming - will see. Decanted 60 min: Really pleasant nose of black fruit, cassis, pepper. Tannins now tamed and hold wine together nicely; some mild fruit on pallet, nice finish. Nice. Good with meatloaf.

Den Blinde Hane #10 (Hos Malene&Lars): Very, very dark red, red rim, 6.5. Spicy peculiar bouquet, not able to characterize. Spicy palate, a bit aggressive tannins. Drink now-onwards. Jens-Peter. Not the usual stuff but very interesting still.

No change from my initial tasting note in 2013. Dense, ripe and lacking any elegance. Still a smooth mouthfeel that will win fans, however, ultimately this requires a juicy ribeye. Aromatically this is leaning towards the alcoholic funky side of things, with the 14.5% alcohol noticeable.

Nose is the same as last bottle but definitely picked up a bit of weight on the tongue. The finish is silky and long. Definitely got better laying on its side for a few more years.

Hmm, sorry to say, but this was a disappointment. i "inherited" this wine from a "point club" and I strongly suspect that it had been badly stored for a prolonged period of time. It had that "cooked" smell and taste that tells me that this wine has suffered along its path to me. The rubbery smell and taste blew off with a few hours of breathing, but the damage had been done and the impression left. Bad luck, but there you go...if you don't buy early and store properly, these are the chances you take.

A nose of bold dark fruits and spices, dark purple in color. A medium to full bodied Bordeaux blend, with blackberry, blueberry, licorice and spices on finish. In a great drinking zone since last time tried four years ago. www.winelx.com

Toll, Merlot in Reinkultur!
Hätte ich davon im Keller würde ich noch 1-2 Jahre warten und dann wieder eine Flasche probieren.

Definitely improving with age. Rough corners are rounding off and this is becoming a lot more civilized. Good nose, bold flavors, lots of structure. Still very young and needs to develop. Give it another 5 years, easy.

Decanted for 1 hour (not enough). Dark black color. On nose, oak, cedar, red currants, black cherry & slightly herbal. On palate, concentrated fruit, blackberry, black cherry, tobacco - medium body, high acidity with medium+ finish and sweet tannins. Went surprisingly well with pizza. Good value for right bank Bordeaux. 91+ worth buying more and letting sit for a while.

Good nose of cassis, earth, leather, and a touch of sage. Rich mouthfeel, lots of fruit on the palate, and good backbone with a rustic feel. Medium finish. Very good right now, but with some angular edges that need some time to round off. This one is still young and has the stuff to be gorgeous given another 5 years at least. Let it sit.

Very herbal and green aromatically. This prepares you for a classic Bordeaux with the herbal scent and green bell pepper, but this is not classic in it's style at all. On the palate this is well balanced and VERY concentrated, rather modern. Tannins are smooth and well integrated but this is a very dense wine. Better with food, especially lamb or steak. Still very young, but ready to drink now.

Decanted through aerator.Pencil box, dark fruit, full flavor and excellent balance with tannins. Drank with spiced grilled lamb chops (cumin, cardamom, turmeric, clove, garlic) so a big wine with lots of body and character required! This one stands up very well. But don't drink too soon without a big meal and an aerator.
