this bottle needed an hour of decentering and it was worth the wait-compares to Opus- very bold with a satin finish. The wine looks purple colored. The legs are slow. There is moderate sediment in the bottle.

A birthday gift from my wife 5 years ago. Totally off my radar and have no idea what the "professionals" scored this. Beautiful cherry-rose petal-alcoholic nose. Incredibly smooth glycerin/saline based red fruits with a 30 second finish. A wow wine on every level. Even the color of this wine was beautiful. I am biased towards the 04 vintage...this one ranks up with the best I have tasted. Bravo! Served with English cut braised beef short ribs.

Wine hav some dark fruit, but not too much. Nice earth and maybe a little tobacco flavor.n I reall liked it and would reccomend drinking in the near term. Paired great with a steak dinner!!!

A bold nose of dark fruits and spice, dark purple in color. A bold full bodied Bordeaux blend with currants, cassis, smoke, and earth with a long finish. Decant for a couple hours, a classic wine.

Big bold wine with fantastic fruit length and amazing leather and tobacco. Was not decanted but showed beautifully against other Cabernets from Napa. The fruit just ept on going and showing little sign of age

Dark burgundy color with brick hues at the rim. Red fruit, oak, earth at the nose. Tastes of cherry, vanilla, dark chocolate, tobacco and spice. Excellent complexity and balance, with velvety tannins holding into the long finnish. This Bordeaux blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Petit Verdot, 4% Cab Franc, and 1% Merlot nails it for me and is drinking wonderfully right now.

CT ratings on this are excellent but this bottle was only good...not great - seepage around the cork indicative of a bit of a problem. One more in the cellar so I'll try it again before too long.

Leather, tobacco, cedar, black cherry nose, the same on the palate. The leather is dominate in the palate. Muted fruit, medium minus finish. This is aging nicely. I have one bottle left, looking forward to trying in a few years. Fruit definately started to show itself after sitting the glass a bit. Should have decanted....

Super creamy creme de cassis. Very much inline with other Tributes I've tasted. Maybe a little more heat on the finish, but still elegant and very well made. Dark fruit, leather, tobacco and some nice spice qualities. Moderate complex finish, moderate high alcohol, tannins and alcohol. Quite nice, but not up to par with other Tributes. Maybe I just have higher expectations at this point in the game.

Popped and poured. Had this with dinner at an old school steakhouse last night. The wine was great, unfortunately, the steak was not - dry and overcooked!

Much like the last one. Complex flavors of plum, dark berries, bittersweet chocolate and just a little basil spice. Long finish with smooth, velvety tannins perfectly balanced with the acidity.

Highly enjoyable cabernet sauvignon. Tobacco, smoke, cherry and vanilla on the nose and palate. Exceptionally well balanced wine. Recommend decanting for 1 hour prior to drinking.

I love this wine -- Ripe, black fruit, cedar, w/ spice box, tobacco, and hints of chocolate. Waves of sweet fruit and herbs/spices thru mid palate, rounded but evident tannins, moving seamlessly into a lengthy finish. I've noted and others concurred that although this wine improves on decanting, it sings upon opening. WOTN vs. Brunello di Montalcino and Napa Cab of equal price.

Dark redish purple. Nose of plum, blackberry and little moist peaty earth. Complex flavors of plum, dark berries, bittersweet chocolate and just a little basil spice. Long finish with smooth, velvety tannins perfectly balanced with the acidity. This is drinking beautifully now; with 4 more bottles in the cellar I can't wait to see how a little more time works for it. Decanted 2.5 hours which opened it up very nicely - it was good when I opened it but it became great after decanting! What a wonderful Father's Day treat!

Restaurant purchase, which meant the wine was only decanted for 5 minutes before we began drinking. Singing, vibrant ripe fruit (cherry and currant) right out of the bottle with chocolate, oak and tobacco. The fruit is forward, but wine is still well-structured and balanced and flavors are strong thru the mid-palate to a long satisfying finish. I love this wine. Glad i have a couple bottles in the cellar.

Awesome! Aromas of berry, currant, spice, smoke, tobacco and nutmeg are followed by berry, chocolate and spice that have a seamless finish that is long lasting with well integrated tannins. This is a wine to seek out!

Taste at the WF OB Benziger Wine Dinner. Awesome as the '03. Just a little less concentration of fruit. Still excellent aromas of dark red berries, mocha, espresso and cigar box. The palate is soft and lingering with flavors of leather and light smoke. A 30 second finish supports the medium to full bodied biodynamic red blend. Still one of my overall favorites.

Engrossing nose of cedar and spices evolving into deep black fruit over time, about an hour. Palate goes from almost woody, licorice to dark, fruity and spicy with a hint of the tannins on exit but everything melds nicely. Finish is about 30 seconds and leaves you wanting more! Nice bottle!
