Man är alltid lite nervös med en vit Bourgogne med denna ålder. Men denna flaska är i perfekt skick. Underbar frukt, rökig mineral, rostade hasselnötter och en fyllig och krämig textur. I en underbar mognadsfas.

Leon's Burgundy @ Medlar (The Medlar, London): Pale gold. Nicely fresh nose, a touch of flint and smoke. Rounded, quite fat across the attack. Richer than the Sauzet initially tough it des tighten up after an hour or so, focussing and becoming more mineral. ****

Citrus, meyer lemon and comice pear, toasted hazelnut, limestone with vanilla bean. Acidity balances and integrates the flavor. Silky but assertive mouthfeel, incredible richness, power and depth.

Beautiful nose that is more suggestive of Puligny than Meursault. High-toned with apple and citric notes and a touch of nuttiness. Intense and vibrant in the mouth. Fantastic balance of rich, very ripe fruit with the bright acidity. A monstrous wine that is only beginning to reach its peak. The Meursault like qualities are complemented and even a bit overwhelmed by Puligny-ness. This will be a wine for the ages.

Comtes Lafon Dinner - Blanc et Rouge (RPM Seafood - Chicago IL): Slightly oxidized, but certainly more corked.

The Great Comtes Lafon, A fine wine tutured tasting with Jasper Morris MW (Berry Bros & Rudd, London): Vineyard was replanted in 1991 and this was the first bottling as a premier cru.
Light yellow in colour, light, almost thin wine. little complexity and balance. Young vines show here and even has some bitter elements. Some minty, petrolly notes on the nose too. 89-90
