Terrific wine. Very dark reddish-black color. Nice nose of black fruits, flowers, and spices. It is an immense wine on the palate. Very complete from attack to finish. Especially nice and full in the mid-palate. I expected big, harsh tannins from a Petit Verdot but, to me, the most surprising thing about this wine is the suave and supple texture.

Solid daily drinker type wine. This release is majority petit verdot and probably needs some time to settle down tannins and smooth out. Nose is violet and blue fruit. Palate is a bit uneven with lots of pepper and spice. Nice wine.
UPDATE: revisited after 3-4 hours open and uneven bits had come together adding a couple of points to this wine. Even at $15 entry price this wine will benefit from lots of air.

Second bottle opened and it was good, but somehow memory of corked bottle detracted from enjoyment.

Yakima Valley Maiden Voyage Tasting Tour!; 11/14/2012-11/18/2012 (Yakima Valley AVA, Naches Heights, Snipes, Horse Heaven Hills, Red Mountain, Rattlesnake AVAs): Big and bold bright red and blue fruit flavors and aromas. Wood notes such as vanilla and cedar flavors are assertive. Quite tannic, yet broad with a drying finish. A quaffable and a pleasant NV with big bang for your buck.
