Really good for the price. New World fruit forward and slightly sweet. A simple monotonic quaffing wine good by itself. Paired it with a rice, black bean, guacamole & salsa dish. The salsa was a peach based salsa for an interesting sweet and hot experience which was nicely complimented by the wine. Rikki loves this wine. I am sure she would rate it very good.

Jammy and highly manipulated fruit here. Big carmel on the nose along with 70's Hugh Hefner pipe smoke on the nose. Creamy texture and the carmel really stands out along with the bing cherry acidity. Not very complex, but an average easy drinker if in the mood.

Much better than expected, although on the sweet side. Not much on the nose. Jammy with notes of cassis, black cherry, bacon fat, and some spice. Creamy finish with mild tannins. Great QPR, would buy again. (Decanting not neccessary although it couldn't hurt.)

The nose is suprisingly hot for this 13.5% EtOH blend of Zinfandel, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Carmel is the best aroma in the glass. The palate is sweet with nicely integrated tannins and some spice but that about sums it up. Under it all is grape soda, minus the bubbles, with a short finish.

Note essentially as before, except to note that this is a very dark purple wine. Used to prepare tomato marinara, and the remainder went well with our spicy marinara and Italian sausage. Once again, the spice component in this was drawn out and accentuated with the accompanying spicy food. Very tasty!

For me, this unfortunately tasted like grapejuice. Other than a slight spice and soft tannins, this wine was really simplistic. There was fruit (berries) on the nose, but not much for flavor.

Nose: Medium intensity, with aromas of earth/wet leaves, dark cherries, dark berries, cream and vanilla, and an overall spiciness.
Palate: Off-dry, with a slight hint of sweetness. The acid is low, and relatively high tannins. The body is big on this one, and it has flavors of dark berries, plum, raisins, and slight strawberry. The length is medium, though the intensity is low.
Overall: Excellent for the price, and it’s well-balanced. It’s fruitier than I would have thought. Excellent in displaying its fruit, and will improve in time.
I give it an 88.

Color: Vibrant purple with deep pink rim. Aroma: Fruity, black olive, green pepper, herbal, spicy jam. Taste: Jammy & sweet at palate entry, followed by big spicy body & silky tannins. Finish: Grassy, spicy & peppery, cherry jam, med-short finish.

A "welcome" bottle at the beach house we stayed at. An ok bottle, decent quaffer. Decent flavors if somewhat thin on the palate. Don't know how much it was, so can't speak to QPR. I wouldn't pay over $10.

My note is much the same as previously written, except this bottle seemed to downplay the zinfandel component somewhat; or perhaps all three grape varieties merely seemed more well-integrated. I could barely identify them individually. Nevermind, this was still satisfying, and spicy pizza was an excellent match and helped to draw out and accentuate the spicy zinfandel component in this wine.

Very similar to our first bottle, not a very enjoyable wine. Very simple, flavors are difficult to discern, and not at all what I expect given the juice used to blend. I understand this tends to be a crowd favorite to keep on hand as an everyday wine, but I will not purchase again. I would do better with some two-buck-chuck.

I'm sorry, I have to go against the crowd on this one. I was really looking forward to a great QPR, but this thing is way to sweet, and fakey. The nose was nice, but the palate was just way to Welch's for me. No finish at all. No complexity. nothing.

This is an easy drinking, decent value red, that begins with a medium ruby appearance and a jammy, adulterated zinfandel nose with a hint of spice. On the palate this is a tasty though sweet red, quite jammy. The zinfandel character, which is the majority of the blend, dominates the taste most of the time, but occasionally the merlot component sneaks through on the palate. I do not appreciate the cabernet sauvignon component of the blend at all. This went ok with pasta and marinara (though a more acidic Italian red would have been better), and better with sweet barbeque. I think I like the Menage a Trois white better than this red, but this is very tasty withouth having to think too hard. There's something to be said for this.

Nose is full of fruit, with a hint of fakeness but nice. Strawberry and other berries abound. The zin predominates, but the merlot adds roundness and the cab some complexity. I like the flavors. Again there is fruit forwardness that leans toward fake but is tastefully done. There is a toastiness to it with some heat and tannins. The wine isa good pizza and every day offerin. $7.99- good value.
Edit- next day, still good. The fake bubblegum sweetness/frutiness is there and more evident. Still good.

A very nice QPR wine ($7). A bit too oaky for me, but I really cannot complain about overall quality given the low price point. The wine was rather smooth, and less fruity than similarly priced OZ shirazes, which seem to be the only other red wines in this price bracket I deem worthy of buying. I will buy again.

Nose full of berries-- raspberry, strawberry, blueberry, maybe a little cherry pie. All fruit on the palate, almost sweet, some flavors as the nose, adding some cotton candy. Palate is smooth, but flabby, seems to lack a some structure. Medium finish. All fruit, hollow mid palate, little finish. A rather strnge tasting wine, the Zin really comes through. Still, not too bad QPR.

For the price tag, it packs quite a powerful punch. Pow on the first sip, very fruit forward, but then becomes a one-noter. Rich jammy zingy dark fruits, round on the palate, but the oak can wear on you.

Great QPR for this Red Blend. Listed as a Zinfandel Blend but the Merlot comes through right away. Oak, cocoa, and a smokey nose give way to a soft texture on the palate and an easy finish more like the Zin. Nice "trio".

Initially pliant, bordering on watery, it seamlessly meanders to a distinct cabernet-quality finish that is both easy-going and surprisingly buxom. Enjoy immediately without decanting—goes well with sweets.

This is a decent, easy-drinking wine. Nothing offensive here--red fruits, dried fruit, and some sweetness come through. Doesn't have that mouth-watering, delicious impact I find in the fruit-packed wines I can enjoy though. Back end has a little somethin sumpthin to it. After some air time, it becomes smoother, even a little friendlier. It's not bad, but for >$10, I dunno if I'll buy it again.

Big, fruity and high in alcohol! Of course the ladies found it appealing, Pascal and I less so due to the over the top Zinfandel smack it delivered. Certainly a lively cocktail wine--and who can't get a kick out of the name!

Seems like some one at the winery got on the fruit train and couldn't get off. WOW! This isn't to say that it is bad, just a very sweet baby! I drank this with people who don't drink much red wine and they were all very big fans of it. I thought it was decent, but to much sugar for me to drink everyday. The longer it was allowed to breath brought out the darker and more intense flavors, ripe dark cherries, plums, and this wine has a surprising little bite to it on the finish.

Kind of surprised. This doesn't have the big jammy mouthfeel of Marietta. I have to conclude people are buying it b/c of the name. There are too many wines of the same type but higher quality for less money. As far as what's inside the bottle, I don't really see the allure... On the other hand, it's competently made, with solid fruit. I just wouldn't be able to take more then a couple of sips before this gets cloying. Retried after drinking decent wine... and this is plonk. I can't believe how popular it is.

Well I work at a wine shop and have seen the masses buy this wine for quite some time now. I figured I had to give it a shot. I gotta say I just don't get it. Not much on the nose. It tastes jammy but flat. No depth which makes sense at this level and price point. It's not sweet per se but it tastes like it has some added sugar (maybe to please said masses). I'm disappointed. Wish I had saved my $7.14 and spent it on something else. Yuck. Sorry folks this just isn't very good.

When I purchased this wine for $9.00 I was expecting an acidy fruit bomb...But to my suprize it was quite good. Raspberry and a bit of cinnimon on the nose. Very smooth and balanced on the palate, you can really "feel" the jammy qualities of the Merlot. I would keep some in your cellar as a great light everyday red. And for $9.00 you cannot go wrong.

The zinfandel and merlot came through nicely in this very drinkable red table wine. Not a lot of the cab came through, it was relatively light bodied, but a very nice, drinkable wine. Very nice nose and mid palate, a little weak on the finish. Overall, very enjoyable.

Bruoght to Easter Dinner, went well with glazed ham. The usual spice and fruit that this wine has always provided.

Good, inexpensive that can be an everyday wine. Not as smooth as the 2005 but may mellow after another 6 to 9 months of cellaring.

A gift from a client:
Big, fruity and high in alcohol! Of course the ladies found it appealing, Pascal and I less so due to the over the top Zinfandel smack it delivered. Certainly a lively cocktail wine--and who can't get a kick out of the name!

This was very good, lots of fruit & flavor. Not much Tannin. It did have a tint of kool-aid in the after taste. Especially good at the price (~$8). I would get this again.

Very smooth from beginning to end, right after opening. We have been told that this label isn't very consistent (same year can be good/bad/average, depending on the bottle)... this was a good one.
