Deep garnet in color. Nose of dark berries, dark chocolate, and hint of tar. Tastes of dark cherries, mocha, and hints of leather. Lovely fruit that turned elegant with aeration. In a nice drinking window now but should age nicely for another 7-10 years.

Took about 4 hours in the decanter to open up, sadly the bottle was almost gone. Decant time need, especially at the outset as it was quite tart and bitter, but does open. Holding up well, few years left.

Still a massive wine. Big nose on this one with ripe jammy fruits coming through. Decanted for a good 3 three hours and perhaps should have been longer as it really opened up after time in the glass.

definitely need decant, suggest to decant it at least 3-4 hours before consuming. the nose was wonderful, wild berry, blue berry, coffee, black fruits and pepper, very jammy and ripe, high acidity and soft tannin. Nice.

nose jumps out. Palate is long with excellent fruit depth. Rich fruit yet well balanced by acids and tannins. Oak and alcohol in the background. The mid palate and finish are impressive. I expect this will hold another 10+ yrs but I suspect it won't develop any more significant complexity.

Dim Sum Club at Summer Palace (Summer Palace, Regent Hotel): Every time I think I am way over the fruit-driven modern Aussie Shiraz, along comes one that really surprises me by how yummy it actually is. There was no doubt what this was the moment it hit our glasses – the nose alone was a telltale, with rich wafts of plums and blackberries seasoned by some brambly herb, dried earth aromas and twists sweet eucalyptus. Unmistakably Aussie. The palate was as rich and sweet as the nose suggested, with a whole mouthful of ripe blackberry and spice flavours touched by more of those herb and eucalyptus accents on the finish. For all its fruit though, the wine was actually well-balanced and nicely structured, shaped as it was by juicy acidity and fine tannins that kept it quite delicious to drink. This is so rich that it probably needs decades to shed its puppy fat and put on real complexity though. Not quite the style of wine I favour, but this was well made and pretty enjoyable.

Special wine, really very good. Decanted and drank and it was a marvelous thing indeed. Well balanced marathon length and smooth finish. I didn't find it a big wine just superbly balanced with the ripe dark fruit beautifully evident. How I keep away from the other bottles is the real question as this has eons in it if cellared well.

Big gutsy wine but very well balanced. Loads of liquorice, cured meats, toasty oak with a silky mouthfeel and excellent length. Still very primary and it will continue to improve. A good wine in its style.

Has come together nicely after a few years in the bottle. Yes it is a big wine but the fruit, wood, acid and tannin are all in balance. Loads of dark red fruits, mocha and bacon, lovely texture with great length. Drinking well right now given it still has the exuberance of its primary youth but likely get a bit more interesting with a few more years in the bottle.

Very good wine. The high alcohol is completely balanced. Deep fruit. Lacking perhaps that final touch of shiraz sweat and mint. Very tasty. (92-93)
