Cellar Reconstruction Party (Gary's Place): Very dark red/purple color. PNP, drank 1.5 glasses over an hour. Deep nose of blackberry, plum, spice, caramelized sugar. The palate shows a deep, glycerin filled, full body. Black fruits with a dusty texture, medium grained tannins and medium finish. Very good 91+ to 92pts.

Cellartracker Over the Hill and In the Woods Party (Judith's House): Purple/red color. Nose has blackberry, plum, blueberry, there is a sweet element - brown sugar, carmel/butterscotch, with some florals developing. The palate shows black and blue fruits, blackberry liqueur, sweet blueberry pie. There is depth here without being jammy. Medium finish.

Popped and poured, consumed over 4 hours. Nose is a bit brambly raspberry and cherry with minor, really minor, oak influences. Taste is cassis, cocoa, a little bitterness on the finish. Love the tannins on this. Wish I had more.

Really enjoyed this bottle. Nice nose with lots of black cherry with perhaps a hint of strawberry. Was looking for a good wine to have with grilled venison. This worked very well. The lack of tannins was a fine match for this very lean meat.

Nose: Big, sweet blackberry fruit with a little cassis. Palate: Rich, sweet blackberry flavors (almost a touch overripe). Very rich and textured. Good finish. This is well made but ultimately the sweet fruit comes off a little overpowering. If the acid level was higher this could be stellar.

This is our second bottle, and we're happy to have two more in the cellar. Inky black-purple, the nose has some vanilla among the dark berries. A bit of oak, but not overdone -- mainly licorice and pomegranate. Big flavor with huge fruit up front and a bite of fresh rhubarb on the finish.

This is a dark, fruity, very full bodied wine, plum flavoered. I really enjoyed the taste from start to finish. Intend to purchase more of this wine to hold for a longer period of time. This is one of the better Petite Sirah's I have tasted.

1st day, a bit closed at opening, rich cherry with slight oak overtones. Dark purple color, beautiful bouquet 2nd day, fruit expanded, more finish, deeper raspberry and cherry I am impressed with all of Runquists offerings and this is no exception.

This was jammy, blueberry and plum, little bit of heat but not much. Quite a good Petite Sirah. Almost up to "full" syrah. A little syrupy - full mouth-feel. Really coasted my tounge with purple. Probably could sit for a while. Consumed over a couple of hours - not much change during that time.

I had this bottle at Murray's in Minneapolis. Rich fruit, nicely balanced. A full mouth experience. Silky soomth tannins led to a long finish (although it was a little hot). I need to find some of this to buy!

Baking spices on the nose, reasonable but aggressive vanilla on the palate. Supplanted by a decent mixed fruit middle and pleasant medium long finish.

Bold, flavorful stuff. Shows the power of CA's least known grape region.

Solid QPR. Jammy red and black fruit. Some what sweet but comes together in layered fruit explosion. I was pleasantly surprised.

Delightful, meaty, bloody juice. Oak treatment is balanced and the tannins and acids are in check. Likely my favorite petit sirah of recent memory.

Last bottle of this. Similar to last bottle but marginally better. Well made but still a little overripe for my palate.
