  • In the bouquet tropical fruits and bruised apple, some vanilla and nutty impressions. On the palate quite mature with impressions of sherry. Also a touch of sweetness. Too old? No score.

  • Well-integrated, subtle, slight wood and nothing is in-your-face here. Lovely wine.

After a three hour decant in the fridge, and letting it warm up a bit, I am upping the score from 91 to 92-93. The wine kept developing, got sweeter and more complex. Really good.

  • 2006 Nicolas Potel Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Champ-Canet (Frankrijk, Bourgogne, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru) Kleur: Middel goudgeel Aroma / bouquet: Complex, eerste indruk is vooral een grote variatie aan fruit: citrus en geel tropisch. Duidelijke gisttonen, versgebakken stokbrood, vanille en boterbabbelaars. Smaak / Afdronk: Vol, filmend en rond. Veel concentratie, dik-sappig. Rijpe indrukken overheersen. Veel lengte. Algemeen / potentieel: Prachtige rijpe, rijke, klassiek gevinifieerde Chardonnay. 50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 11 + Smaak / Afdronk: 16 + Algemeen / potentieel: 8 = 90/100

  • Refreshing. Moreish. Perhaps a little one dimensional for a premier cru.
