have had glasses on two occasions in the last month via Coravin. This is in a great place and is what you expect from a well-aged Chard. Everything is mature and exhibits finesse; vanilla, faint wood, smooth and elegant. I would drink within the year, but I believe it'll go for one or two more.

Golden yellow; butterscotch, vanilla; butter, vanilla, slight mango, light toast. Suggest one hour+ air time. I would not say this is dropping off, although it is drinking well. I wouldn't be too concerned about drinking through inventory soon if cellared well. I could see this continuing to mellow over 2012-2014 and lasting beyond.

A top label brings high hopes and this delivers a solid, right into my expectations box. Mature yet lively and vibrant. Color, nose and mouthfeel rich complex integrated notes, smooth, balanced and delicious. Nothing sweet or cloying here. Might develop more introspection with additional time yet rewards past patience today.

Great aged Cali Chard but time to drink. I was worried because there was a little seepage and the cork crumbled. However, the wine was not flawed but maye have aged a little more quickly. Still has a rich core of white fruit, with some Carmel and honey undertones. Rich mouthfeel and plenty of acidity left.

Pale golden. White fruits, candied lemon peel, beeswax, coconut, and a vague saline note on the nose. Lemon curd, tart peach, and a bit of grapefruit on the palate. Very crisp and not heavy at all. Good stuff.

Popped and poured, enjoyed over the next two hours. Wonderful nose of white peaches, tangerines, caramel and crushed rocks. Swirling tropical fruits dominate the mouth, a touch of vanilla adds a hint of sweetness, great balance of bracing citric acidity and vibrant fruit.

Lots of nice creme brulee on nose, secondary is lemon curd. Mouth is rich, semi-opulent with a lot of bright citrus and unripe peach, followed by marshmallow cream, then toasted marshmallow. Nice but expensive.

This wine is like a bridge between California and Burgundy. I know that Kerry Murphy is pointing towards Burgundy-style chards and there is some of that, but here is also a lot of white fruit and a very soft mouth feel. he nose was Burgundian and tere were similarities between this and the 2000 Hanzell Alyse we had Monday that everyone said reminded them of Burgundy. BUT this was not "just as good as a Burg." It was better because I found better fruit and more complexity of fruit

Wow, one of the best Cali chards I have had in a while. I agree with most the other notes. Beautiful, rich, butterscotch. Stunning now or has a bit of time too.

Usually I'm not a fan of Cali Chards, opting instead for the hard minerality that Burgundies offer. But this wine is so well balanced and with only a touch of oak that it delivers on the promise of what American Chards can be. Exceptional.

Absolutely stunning Chardonnay. Rich, almost unctuous texture, candied lemon peel, vanilla, and butterscotch on the nose; wonderful balance of lemony acidity, with creamy vanilla, giving that lemon curd experience; magnificent! Drink now, or hold for a year or so, but I think it's best to take advantage of the freshness.

Off the list for $85 at Lotus of Siam in Las Vegas. I paid $60 plus shipping to buy the exact same wine from the winery. 'Nuf said about a great restaurant pricing policy. This is a sublimely delicious wine. There were four of us but I got just one glass because one of our guests was a chardonnay lover and devoured this wine. White fruit predominates with creamy soft vanilla, floral notes and some kumquat/mandarin orange citrus in the background. There's pear and some white peach along with chardonnay grape flavor. Excellent balance and a long finish. Kerry Murphy told me a few years ago that he was aiming for a more Burgundian style of chardonnay than the more common CA style. I think it would be fair to say he straddles a middle ground. No wood chips and no sweet syrupy vanilla a la pop culture CA chardonnay.

Always one of my favorite DuMOL bottlings and this one didn't disappoint. Huge tropical fruit and floral nose. Rich palate full of deep fruit- orange, lemon and a touch of melon. Persistent finish with additional notes of honey and caramel. Balanced texture- juicy but not flabby.

In the glass, clear, bright yellow. On the nose, a mix of pineapple, minerals, and oak. On the palate, rich fruit balanced by nice acidity, with a touch of smoke and oak, and notes of vanilla and citrus. This will probably improve over the next three years, but it's quite nice right now. Great start for Thanksgiving dinner.

Nose of pineapple, almost earthy caramel, peach with piercing acidity on a nice mouth feel. I noticed after not drinking this for awhile the Oak is becoming integrated and less dominant from release.

Wineflock - Chardonnay Shootout (Dennis'): Medium yeloow color. Lovely lithe blanced clean bright yellow fruit on the nose. Mmmmn, nice round sweet blanced yellow fruit with good complexity and a note of sweetness. Spactacular California chardonnay - likely would have been WOTN in the previous lineup, IMHO.

Flock - Chardonnay Shoot Out (Dennis'): Yummm - primary, rich and delicious nose has lemon cream pie and minerals. Palate is full throttle with rich fruit and fresh, lively acidity. Complex with bold fruit, spice and minerals. Long penetrating finish. Love this stuff.

So pleasing. Bright yellow vitamin charged color. An inviting soft slightly acidic nose that follows into a wonderful taste profile of oak, vanilla, and chalk that creates a burst of citrus and lively yet rather light mouthfeel. The finish continues to accent the acidic aspects with lovely tart notes that seems to last forever. Top CA Chard!

Tasting Of DuMol Wines (The Wine Summit – Post Hotel, Lake Louise): From Kent Ritchie Vineyard – 33 year vines – Wente clone – 3 tons/acre yield – 2/3 malo fermentation. Aged in barrel sur lie – 60% new French oak. Light yellow straw; aromas showing fresh tree blossoms, along with tree fruits; acids show well on the palate – lemony citrus; clean – pear and nectarine flavours; acidity shines; plenty of solid structure – some oak showing; it’s a young wine waiting on harmony of its elements; acidity carries through the finish, as does the persistent fruit. Would like to try this wine in a couple of years, but it appears to have the makings of an excellent wine.

Kerry Murphy and Andy Smith presented 7 incredible wines at the Post Hotel Wine Summit in Lake Louise, Alberta Canada. This wine was part of a 7 glass technical tasting from DuMol. Kerry and Andy did a splendid job of providing background on the winery and the specifics of the wine. This glass was great. Gold in color with a tint of green. Luscious and almost thick, clinging to the sides of the Post monogrammed glasses. Honey smell with nectarine and other citrus aromas. It is a full bodied acidic glass of Chard. This was very special.

I agree wholeheartedly with Nanda. This is generous and fruity without being "big"; it's completely in control. There's an alluring musky perfume on the nose, followed by some pineapple on a citric palate. There's just a dash of spicy oak lurking in there somewhere; it keeps things interesting without intruding. The finish is long and sort of nutty. Great balance between the fruit on the one hand and the structure on the other. DuMOL's Chards just keep getting better.

Saturday Night Wines (Chris' Place): Gorgeous nose with stunning aromas of rich, sweet pears, minerals, citrus zest, and a well-integrated undercurrent of toasty vanilla. Killer palate is plush, round and creamy with a balancing acidic edge that lifts and provides persistence. Loads of everything - fruit, complexity, acid - and a finish that goes on and on. The total package.
