Still lovely, but old age is showing now. The 1976 characteristics were well hidden in the past but now they start to show; medium bodied and just a little too much acidity. Nevertheless still a great pleasure.
Dark carmine with a brown edge. Deep and rich bouquet. Complex with a lot of nuances, cassis and good oak. The taste is full bodied, spreading in the whole mouth, with liquorice, cassis, and some iron. There are dry and young sticky tannin. Long and complex aftertaste. Overall a beautiful, but a little straight forward wine. Nevertheless it has a lot to offer and I would not mind having a case in this stage, because the wine has potential for several years.
Dark red. Complex and very attractive bouquet with fruit and good oak. Soft, sticky tannin and good acidity. A lot of liquorice. Firm, full bodied wine with a medium to long aftertaste. This is a great wine. The tannin is perfect already and the wine will certainly hold for a few years. The aftertaste might grow, because at this moment it could be a little more abundant considering the structure of the wine.
