94 pts

The wine looks greenish gold colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like sage, Herbes de Provence, garrigue and thyme. It tastes same as it smells, plus some stoniness. The body is medium/full. The wine has smooth and polished texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium/high acidity. Very good indeed, the nose slightly better than the palate

94 pts

Deep golden color. The nose is so expressive, showing aromas of citrus, orange blossom, honey, herbs and mineral. This is medium bodied on the palate, with tremendous concentration and a fair amount of finesse. Intense. The long finish displays wonderful mineral elements and just enough acidity.

The most interesting bottle of wine I've enjoyed in years. Went through lots of phases during the 2 hr meal. Sorry, no formal notes, but really great and well worth the splurge.

Wow...this was stunniing both on the nose and the palate. A very complex white that is intellectually intriguing. Impeccable balance with great fruit, wonderful acidity (albeit modest for Silex), chalk and minerality. This vintage is now extremely difficult to find and I wish I had more. Still plenty of life ahead but probably drinking at or close to its peak. Simply wonderful! Consumed from a magnum.

I ordered this off the wine list at Canlis for dinner with my parents. This was served at a perfect temperature of 50 degrees. On the nose this is smoky and mineral laden, very deep and intense. The palate follows the nose with an explosion of grapefruit, acidity, and shocking vibrancy. The finish is long, tantalizing, smoky, and packed with minerality. This stuff is amazingly quenching, refreshing, and an incredible way to start out a meal. Wow! This bottle was far stronger than a 2001 which I had 3 months ago.
