Youthful looking dark ruby purple color. Takes about 2 h for the aromas to unfurl showing very expressive raspberry coulis, dark cherries, baking spices and mint. Palate shows a mouthful of sweet dark red berries, bitter cherry pits, a hint of dark soy, good acidity, smooth tannins and a very perfumed finish. What a pleasant surprise.

Dark red in color. Expressive aromas of spicy black cherries and raspberries, red licorice, graphite and violets on the nose. A dense palate shows silky and sweet dark berry liqueur, baking spices, hint of salinity, lowish acidity, fully resolved tannins and a long ripe and spicy finish.

Decanted and drank over 2 hours. Wine really opened up and blossomed after 30 minutes and is drinking beautifully. Ruby color, bouquet of dark fruit and some earth, the wine still has velvety cherry fruit flavor with some cola and secondary chocolate flavors. Long delicious finish.

Dark ruby color. Nose of black cherry, band aid, some kirsh and spice. Similar on the palate. Very smooth except for some heat. Tannins have largely resolved. Very good but lacked the structure needed to be great.

Ruby red with slight lightening around the edges. Over about 1 h, the nose opens up to reveal crushed red cherry and cranberry, hung meat, some asian spice and underbrush. A very refined palate shows crushed, sweet-sour red berry liqueur, silky mouthfeel, medium acidity, no evidence of oak, fully resolved tannins and a long earthy, perfumed finish. Lovely indeed.

One of the nicer bottles of Oregon Pinot I've had in a while. Aging well, with lots of rich black cherry fruit - but still balanced and nicely structured. Would have guessed NSG in a riper year.

opened this, thinking that it was about time, but it is certainly still young and very primary. Lots of New World candy here, licorice and such, but the structure is good, and there is backbone in the wine - it is spicy too, not only sweet, all though creamy sweetness remains the main impression. A bit bit simple for the price, and I have my doubts: Will it improve much? (with duck breast)

PHMG WAG: Sideways Revisited (Lyon Down Inn): Ruby slippers... "there's no place like home". But in this tasting group hedonism wins. However, I liked this a lot. Nicely structured and deep. Layers of cherry, raspberry, winter spices and earth. Tons of time and very good on day 2. Leonetti is hard to beat...

It's splurge Wednesday, and this wine is fantastic. Redolent black cherry on the nose leads to just beautiful and mouth-filling pinot noir on the palate. Color is dark cherry. Medium-bodied. Finish is long. Just a truly beautiful wine.

Wow the color was dark, the body thick, the aromas and black cherry fruit wonderful. Had this wine with roasted salmon and it went together great. Drank in my Oregon Pinot Noir Riedels and it was hard to not drink it up. I think I will try again in 6 months.

A co-worker's Farewell: This was a very nice pinot, but the price is a little proibitive for me. Less of that huge ripeness I've been getting from the '06's, and a little more earthiness. I'd like to try this in a couple of years and see how it comes together. 89-91
