Florals, lime, hint of kero and saline. It's fresh still, but the acids have relaxed and the wine has filled out. It's got good carry. Delicious with food.

Nup, that does it. Canberra Reisling and my palate just don't get along. To me this lacked any fruit characteristics worthy of a good Reisling and the acid was way high. Drinkable but forgettable. I think Canberra really is Dhiraz territory.

Well made wine, nose muted but as expected for riesling. Palate, however, is dominated by very high acid. OK if this is what you are expecting. Give this wine about 4 more years before trying again.

Bought a bottle back from Australia with me after visting Tim at the vineyard last week. The new release 07 is minerally and a little sweeter than the Eden valley rieslings I am used to. Pretty darn good though.
Drank it with chilli mussels - and reminded me how much I missed the quality wines over here.

NobleRottersSydney - Canberra Trip Sep07 (Canberra wineries & Mezzalira restaurant): {screwcap, 12.5%, A$25} Yellow-green again. Unusual for Clonakilla in that there was some acid adjustment to this wine, being from not-estate sources; nevertheless the pH weighs in at a solid 3.0. The aromas are all lime and slate. Noticeable, and mouth-watering, acid on the palate, medium weight and intensity. Clean lime fruit and stoney flavours dominate the palate; there is good length and persistence of finish. Good wine which might mature nicely with a few years’ age.

Lime, mineral, florals and a touch of kero. Nicely complex. Still pretty fresh though, and seems to hint it has years ahead of it still.

Clonakilla Vertical Dinner: Floral, mango and pineapple nose. Nicely rounded mouthfeel with enough acid to reign it in, finishing dry.
