Clear Golden- Yellow. Aromas of Stone Fruits, like Apricot and some Peach. Petrol and traces of Smoke. Eucalypt with hints of Butter. Juicy Freshness paired with Elegance! Beautiful integrated Fruit characters of Grapefruit, Kiwi and Quince. Some Herbs with harmonious Acidity. Medium-long and dense finish with a little Anise. Pichler´s 2002 Kellerberg had great finesse and complexity. Beautiful density on the palate, perfectly integrated alcohol, which made the wine an intellectual, exciting drinking experience See more details and pics in my Blog: cellartv.wordpress.com
White Icons @ my place (Netherlands): Flavors of banana and mango, nutty tobacco, whiff of petrol. Herbs, spices and beautiful vegetal notes add an intriguing twist to this very rich but absolutely dry take on this variety. Very concentrated, impressive and special. Loved it! 18.5/20
Pale yellow. Extremely fruit driven upfront nose of grapefruit and mango followed by fly ash and steel. Palate coating with gobs of pit fruit, mango and liquid smoke. Extremely persistent smoky finish. A very contemplative wine. My notes reflect the profile of the wine when relatively warm, near room temp. Interestingly, tasted when colder, it has a more citus/pineapple driven profile allowing the copius acidity to dominate. God I love this stuff.
