Fairly big and forward with notes of spice. The maturity is just about right for my taste, so I recommend drinking it up before it looses too much fruit. A great California Pinot if you like it more masculine.

A fruit bomb who may be coming to the end of the road. This wine probably will not get any bettter, in fact it may be on the wrong side of the curve. Still has red fruit available, not much nose.

Brambly notes of berry fruits on the nose. Good mouthfeel with nice acidity allowing it to pair well with a wide variety of foods (like the crabcakes we had). The only negative to the wine is that the finish has some harsh notes to it. These may integrate over time. Overall, this is a solid wine that represents Petaluma Gap well.

I opened this after having a couple glasses of a nice red fruited Russian River Pinot which made this show quite earthy and funky, usually something I quite like, but not this time as the funk really masked any fruit. If you have any of these I say drink up as I don't see any improvement in the future.

This seems like a completely different wine after the first glass. My previous note was based on a tasting at the winery. Most recently over dinner, the pure fruitiness of this wine was great. However, as the wine became exposed to air, the nose took on a sulfur character and the palate became harsh. Hoping that what this wine really needs is time.

Honeymoon Visit at Siduri / Novy: Dusty ruby color. A bit closed aromatically, and not giving up much at the moment. Flavors of cherry and spice, with a touch of cola and earth.

I don't know why I liked this wine but I did (I usually like pinot's which have a bit less obvious fruit). That said, tons of oak and sweet cherries and chocolate on the nose. Similar on the palate. Fairly lush but finish wasn't long. Some moderate acidity -- it was well paired with a-spice-rubbed seared tuna. Seemed to hit the spot tonight. Surprisingly, I didn't think it needed more time.

pinot days chicago (navy pier): nose: big fruit bomb nose. Getting some candied cherry and strawberry with a small bit of spice to it
taste: real sharp on the pallate. The Cherry and strawberry dominate
overall: it's good, but it doesn't do it for me. Not my style at all, but people who are fans of big time cali fruit forward pinot should really like this one

Pinot Days - Chicago (Navy Pier): Nose is expressive with bright red fruits and spice. Bright fruit personality continues on the medium-to-full bodied palate. Pure with good length - impressive for such young vines.

Popped and poured. Lots of red berry fruit up front with some good depth on the mid-palate. Strong finish with lingering tannins. Outstanding.

Ruby color. Black fruit nose. Tastes of cherry and blackberry with some toasted oak. Pure cherry finish with a good earthiness and balance.

This was a great experience filled with fruit notes of strawberry raspberry and some spices. Excellent wine but not classic.

Tight and complex wine with ample fruit, minerality and acid. Finishes long. From 2010.
