Medium-light honey gold color, light but classic gewurz nose, this is a wonderful vintage of this wine, medium intensity and depth, lovely gewurz spice, nice steely minerality, has moderate weight and density without being unctuous. Not many dry, mineral versions out there like this Trimbach. In an early stage of its prime drinking window, which should go for years.

Tasted blind. Honey, melon, oranges, citrus, nectarine, a hint of lychee, and floral characters on the nose. On the palate, there's more honey, bitter orange, nectarine flavors along with medium acidity. Long, very good finish. There's a lot going on, but it's all in balance. Quite impressive for a Gewürztraminer!

A striking wine - light gold and not deep yellow ?Lovely and balanced bouquet of rose and spice with none of the blowsiness of cheaper examples . Like a ripe Comice pear with a touch of ginger- rather more residual sugar than expected and less complex than I expected married splendidly with a spicy rather than hot prawn curry .

Precise nose of ripe williams pear and orchard blossom with subtle background minerality. The fruit-forward palate is defined by pear/ester flavours and shows appreciable residual sugar; I would call it medium-dry. Unfortunately the wine lacks the acidity needed to frame those flavours and cut through the RS. Having said that, the wine retains impressive freshness and energy for its age. Would pair well with curry.

Showing its age just a bit more than then 2001 did at this point (and I think the 2001 will outlast this 2005 by quite a few years); but still delicious wine, with very pleasant gewurz fruit, reserved in the way this bottling always is, with hints of spice, moderate acidity, and some lurking but shy minerality. Seems just a little tired and faded, but still very enjoyable.

Recent vintages of Trimbach.: This Gewurztraminer is only produced in the very best vintages and it can be cellared for up to 20 years. Rich fruity nose, spicey aromas and some hints of sweetness. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very pure on the long and elegant finish.

Pale gold coloured. The nose is full and spicy with aromas of apricot and spicy Turkish Delight. The palate is lighter than the nose suggests, dry and spicy with a little bit of alcohol showing through.

Color amarillo dorado bien brillante, gruesa y lenta lágrima.

An Extraordinary Range at Maison Trimbach (Ribeauvillé, France): This on the other hand was slightly honeyed, denser, more aggressively varietal and bitter at the end. Despite its greater heft, it still had a dip in flavor in the mid-palate. The 2004 is the far superior wine.

Rich yellow gold
Bright musky rose and lychee
Off light sweetness with rich alcohol but not hot.
Holding quite well. No rush

Strong yellow colour. Petrol pear flavour. Spicy aftertaste. Good but not worth the money I paid for it.

Notes of rose, lychee, lemon and lily flower. Crisp on the palate, very lingering and enjoyable.

Early Feb 2009 at a restaurant: golden amber color; smells and tastes like honey with a reduced sweetness; slightly fruity; smooth on the palate.
