Vintage Port 1999 (Portvinsklubben 1981): Dark blackberry fruit. Pretty dense flavors and overall it is a fine botle with a fair balance. Lacks depth and aftertaste.

Light on the palate for this one. Like drinking wet cement with deep red and blue fruits. Good amount of heat at the end. Finish is relatively short and am not sure if extra cellaring would benefit this one.

It was a bit tight and acidic the first night. But after a day in the decanter it's opened up wonderfully. Full of plum, caramel, and blackberries. Wonderfully long finish

Dark ruby in color. By color alone, it could pass for like a merlot or cabernet in color. Sweet red and black fruits on the nose; some blueberry pie also along with the heat. Very hot on the palate followed by the sweet red fruits and cassis. Have one bottle left and I won't be opening that for a while as this seems young to me on the mouth. I echo the good QPR of this. 89+
Day 2: Much better, but still hot.

Dark color and dark red & blue fruit on the nose. Dried cherries and blueberries on the palate. Kirsch, some tannins Good fruit, interesting flavors, but not a lot of depth. A little hot (alcohol) on the mid-palate. Medium finish. Good QPR at $29.99.

I know little about vintage ports and have had only a few, but this strikes me as a terrific deal for under $30. Lots of complex dirt on the nose and more fruit than I would have expected on the palate. Surprisingly little sediment. Really enjoyed this. (Did decline in complexity after a day in the fridge, however.)

This bottle was far better than the first. The extra 2 years really helped this along. Still not amazing, but a good sweet quaff non-the-less.

I wasn't terribly proud to be serving this after the deed was done. Maybe it just needs 20 more years or maybe WTSO sold this off cheap for a reason.
