  • so sad to get a solid wine past its peak - lost it until I reorged my "cellar". Very Bordeaux - scents of graphite, cigar box mingling with rose petals. The tannins smoothly delicious, the red fruits a bit lost. Impressive for a 27 yrs old bottle, the colors still violet and the flavors intriguing but too much of it has washed away with the years.

  • The bouquet is light and mature and still has the luxurious elements as described in my previous notes. On the palate however the wine is quite tertiary and on the way down. The fruit is gone. No score.

  • Ruby with a brown edge. Very attractive mature and complex bouquet with luxurious oak. Good balance between sweetness and acidity. There is still some berry fruit; mainly cassis. And although the aftertaste is a bit short, this is a very good wine.

  • Clear purple red and not extremely dark. Powerful bouquet with liquorice, cassis, tobacco, cigar box and lead pencil. A firm dose of tannin which is powerful as well as supple. Good acidity, cassis, liquorice and luxury oak in the taste. Long aftertaste in perfect harmony with the rest of the wine. Very impressive for the vintage.

  • Dark purple. The bouquet is closed; light dark fruit, light oak, some liquorice and all in a good combination. Although the wine is a little harsh and tannic, the wine is full bodied and the tannin is promising. The acidity is more than ok. Good bitter in the aftertaste. Amazing for a 1980 wine.
