Beautiful port, less sweet than others. Really fascinating, complex profile that includes some herbal, almost minty or menthol notes. Fantastic value under $50!

Primary nose of red currant jam and rum baba. Fig, liquorice and milk chocolate on the attack. Long finish - Christmas spices and burned sugar. This is a decent port at the start of its drinking window. While it will not improve dramatically it should become a little more stately in the next 5-10years.

A favourite of mine. As per my earlier observations all the characteristics of a fine vintage port but in moderation and wrapped in an almost vinous frame. Drinks well young (say 10yrs from vintage) and evolves rather than ages keeping at a fairly constant level of quality for 30+yrs. Elegant and moreish. 2030+

Fairly intense nose of spice and dried fruits such as fig, prunes, dates, and raisins. It is full bodied and dense with very nice, sweet aroma replays on the flavour profile. It's well-balanced throughout with no hard edges and an excellent finish length.

Second Sunday Group: 2014 v 2015 Bordeaux (Barb's): Standard bottle, popped and poured. Currants, plum and red berry fruit. Plum, cassis and spice on the palate. Drinking very nicely at this youthful stage.

Easter Bank Holiday dinner. Much as per earlier notes. For those who like a more vinous style of vintage port that that drinks well youngish and up to 30-40yrs from vintage in good years this is the one!! Moreish and long a personal favourite. Greatly underestimated and misunderstood. At least until 2030.

Ripe plum core, lashed with desert fruits - fig, date etc - smoke; balanced sweetness throughout. Delaforce "house" vinosity. What's not to love about this most underrated vintage port. Moreish in the extreme. Drinking beautifully now in its current style, and will be doing so well in to the future as it evolves. 2030 and beyond at a minimum.

First bottle (of port) of the Autumn. As per earlier notes; the racy vinous character of this medium bodied but long lasting port perfectly suited to the season. 2030 and probably well beyond. Great quality, great value to boot.

Clear, deep ruby with some sediment. Clean, medium-intensity, youthful nose, with aromas of alcohol, stewed cherries and raspberries, and cinnamon. Sweet on the palate, medium+ body, high alcohol, medium+ intensity, medium acid, medium- tannin, and flavors of raisin, fig, prune, dried cherry and plum, cinnamon, dark chocolate, and coffee. Medium+ finish. Good, too young, premium price.

Not to everyone's taste, but I have long enjoyed the vinous character of this vintage port - and the 2000 is no exception stylistically. Nose of ripe plum, fig and smoke, carried forward with sweet entry in the mouth immediately balanced with a touch of alcohol heat, liquorice and hints of charred oak. Even in its relative youth perfectly drinkable VP in a concentrated but medium bodied frame. Will never achieve the profundity and depth of its more famous cousins, but drinks well young and will hold up well at this level, in my experience, for 20-30+ years from vintage. A turn-to vintage port that represents excellent quality and amazing value. Now to at least 2030. 91+.

Smoky, burnt, with lots of dried cherry, apricot, and crushed flower aromatics. Notes of same, with hints of alcohol on the palate. Decanted for approximately 5 hours, so much of the "edge" was taken off of this young port. Think it will improve with age and become very subtle, smoky, silky and enjoyable. Very enjoyable and moderately-priced vintage port.

Decanted about5 hours and consumed over an additional 2 hours. Very pleasant nose: raisins and other dark fruit. Balanced mouthfeel, though not overly complex. A very good value.

Very impressive considering the modest price paid....it was slightly hot but still drinking so well, such a balanced mouthfeel with loads of chocolate, fig, and some toasty nutmeg notes.

Consumed over two days (better on the second day). This lacks a little body when compared to the top 2000 VPs. But it is a very enjoyable Port for sure. There is no obvious flaw, but neither is there obvious greatness in this bottle. Just a very nice middle-of-the-road VP from an excellent vintage. As this was purchased for a very cheap closeout price, I am extremely happy with the value here.

My first ever VP, over dinner at Bon Soiree. Our fourth bottle of the night --and a genre I don't know well-- so no rating. But, still, this is very primary and very delicious. Not at all tannic or hard to drink right now. A yummy way to close out an epic meal.

Maybe I got a bad bottle; while not obviously flawed, this was disappointing at best. Pleasant nose of grape and raisin and perhaps some prune. Initially, sweet on the palate with more grape. Very hollow mid-palate and a very bitter, tannic finish.

Drank from 11/14/08-12/29/08. Very tasty and enjoyable. I remember a milk chocolate finish. It held up well for 3-4 weeks and was pretty well shot by the end.
