Still quite tannic, firm and tannic, the vintage is certainly shining through here. It is manly saint-joseph with the focus on the tar and the black olives. To drink with meat, if drunk now - or wait for it. #tasting#Amalievej

Still young, but approachable; the power of the vintage and the polishing treatment of Guigal shines through, the terroir is somewhat hidden here (in spite of the famous vineyard), but it is still en extremely well made, well balanced Syrah-wine from the northern Rhône with all the fixers in terms of olives, bacon, dark fruit, a roasted note et al. Easy to love, harder to remember. Decant. #preparing birthdaytastingdinners

Deep, red with the beginning of an orange rim. Complex, on the savoury side but with a little scented lift. Excellent length in the palate and finish: moderate weight with distinct but not excessive astringency, with a refreshing end and finish. Lovely wine.

Dark youthful color but not that dense for a Syrah. Aromatically, a beacon of black and blueberry fruit with some anise. Medium body with excellent texture, rich dark fruits, a touch of smoke, and firm tannins that avoid being harsh or clipped. Wonderful building minerality in the finish. Impressive young northern Rhone, especially for the appellation.

Dark red. Beautiful nose of sweet blackberries, roses, some licorice, a whiff of pine needles and minerals. Full-bodied, yet elegant, good structure, but seems very smooth and almost seamless due to good balance with sweet tannins, nice fruit and good acid. Should be very interesting if it gains additional complexity.

Muted nose.Very good blackcurrant fruit, balance, minerality and texture. Some tannin, but not preventing enjoyment. More closed on the second night. Third night, the wine had opened again and impressed.
