Day 1: Color is as dark as night. Hard to believe it's a pinot. Quite a bit of barnyard and Dr. Pepper cola on the nose. The palate is rather heavy with blue and black fruit. The wine is a bit awkward. Day 2: The funk blew off, and the wine tasted better and was smoother. It's still a cola dominated wine.

The initial exotic spicy nose gradually diminished but this had a luscious richness of fruit and texture on the palate, on a big frame with real length. Grand Cru quality in this respect. However, it seemed a bit hot, confirmed by 15% alcohol level on the label, and I looked for more complexity on the palate and finish. Quite youthful and vigorous, so I plan to wait at least a couple of years to open my other bottle. Nicely done.

This is a big hot wine. Pleasant nose of red cherry and raspberry fruits, spice and some barnyard funk. Palate was more than medium-bodied, perhaps somewhat viscous and I swear there was some lingering effervescence - not sure why - showing jammy black cherry and blackberry fruits, some spice and way too much heat throughout. Maybe I'm missing something, as I wasn't all that impressed by this wine. Perhaps 15% ABV over-extracted Pinots just aren't my thing

had a bottle with some friends.. didn't get a good feel for it as I only had a little but wasn't as blown away as last time. We shall see how the next bottle goes.

Very good mouthfeel, felt very big with out getting in your face. Not sure if it was the turnip greens or the onions I was eating but it made it have a very off putting alcohol nose and finish - A piece of cheddar brought it back to its delicious self

A really exceptional pinot, our first Las Alturas in the Belle Glos lineup - had with Kim for dinner earlier tonight, New Year's left-overs. Nose bright, muted cedar with red cherry and some floral tones dominating. Very good mouth feel, silky smooth, complex with pleasant aftertaste, very balanced. Primary flavors include red cherry, blackberry, cedar and development of smoke and white pepper on the aftertaste. Hard to find bottle, highly recommend this, drinking prime right now, moderately expensive but very very good and looking to buy more of this. In my opinion on a par with their Taylor Lane, clearly better then Clark & Telephone, overall flavor profile slightly sweeter then Taylor Lane.

Brown and murky, soy sauce and stewed fruit on nose, alcohol and not much acid - done.

Big jammy nose. Roast espresso and a bit of chocolate. Excellent fruity palatte, but all hint of tannins has been resolved. Definitely drink now!

Rich and ripe. Definitely new world, and yes, it has lots of alcohol but the fruit can stand up to it.
