Gold color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of brandy, soaked pears, honeysuckle, allspice and apples. Flavors of brandied pears, lemon zest and yellow apples. Medium acidity, full bodied. Drink now.

One of the best wines i ever drank. 18 years old but still pretty full of life. The color is golden, like a sauternes. In the Nose you get tropical fruit, honey en soms oak. The taste combines sauternes like flavors with chardonnay. The complexity and balance are unprecendented in my experience. Awesome wine!

From magnum this was developed but still quite enjoyable. There are notes of crème brulee, butterscotch, fig, toast, mushroom, and ripe peach. It is full in the mouth with acidity that is gentle. Length of flavour is decent.

This is a wine that has blown me away. I'll start by what could have gone against it, it's 18 years of age, there was plenty of new oak and malolactic characters, 14% alcohol and it's sealed under cork.
None of the above mattered, the resultant wine showed beguiling complexity and richness yet gave a layered and textured experience with focus and precision.
The wine is a true golden yellow in colour, the nose shows rich peach and nougat which extends to the palate where textured stone fruits are complemented by toffee, the finish balances acid, fruit and oak with excellent length.
- Yellow gold color with slow forming legs and aromas of lemon, honey and butterscotch. It's balanced with a full body. Round texture with a long finish.

Mandarin orange and mint leaf on the nose. Soft, gentle mouthfeel, A rather caramelly finish that is quite long. Complex, beautifully balanced wine. Just a touch of oak noticeable. No further development forthcoming from this. Best to drink it up.

Wow! What a difference a good bottle makes! The previous bottle I had left a note on was cooked, not so with this beauty. Color is deep golden. Nose shows lemon oil, caramel, vanilla, and a touch of smoke. On the palate, intense creamy lemon flavors are met with toast and a judicious amount of oak. Also, as with many older Chardonnays, there is a hint of Sherry to the palate. Acidity is still very present and balances well. Thanks to Bill Wood for this great New World Chardonnay.

Citrus peel and roasted nuts on the nose. Generous flavour on the palate and the length was good except for a weird bitter echinacea like character on the mid to back palate. Seemed quite developed - not as good as the bottle that was opened late last year from the same batch. Based on this bottle and even the one previous, I’d been drinking it over the next couple of years.

This bottle was either over the hill or cooked. Color very dark gold. Nose showed a hot note and strong nutty aromas. Palate revealed out of balalnce oaky flavors with the fruit shy and retiring.

Fairly obvious nutty caramel oak on the nose as well as grapefruit and citrus fruits. Rich, broad palate - powerful creamy texture. Very long finish. From what I've tasted of LEAS Chardonnay this vintage seemed to be a good representation of the style with a bit of age.
