  • LWS Barolo Through the Decades: Double decanted about one hour before serving. Transparent garent. Raisins, leather, and rose on the nose. Full bodied, with medium-to-medium-plus acid, and medium-plus grippy tannins. Brandied cherries, vanilla, with fruit becoming more prominent with air. Thick. A bit too heavy for my taste but very good for what it is.

  • This is probably the best bottle so far of several I bought at the estate in the early 00s. It is more suave, gracious and better integrated than my TN indicates of a bottle 3+ years ago whilst at the same time as keeping charactistic Barolo aromas of mature dark fruit, rose petals, tar and anise. Body was medium++, texture quite silky and backbone ripe but sufficiently firm. Excellent.

  • A bit musty, maybe not stored properly.

  • Orange, hazlenut, dried flowers, sour red berries on the nose. Palate is silky, acid still present but not biting, tannins are mouth filling but smooth. Long finish, perhaps at its peak or maybe slightly on the decline. Enjoyable.

  • A nice robust Barolo with quite deep ruby colour and slight bricking at the rim. Aromas on the nose were expressive with a noticeable anise content and and the palate was medium full bodied showing dark fruit infused with red rose, more anise and a little tar, fresh acidity and quite firm backbone. Very Good.

  • Texas Wine School, Luxury Wines of Italy Class. Classic Barolo from a good vintage. Decanted for an hour and half. The palate is more generous than the nose. The palate itself is a little disjointed, with ripe red fruit, the expected leather and truffle on the finish, but a rather hollow mid-palate. Overall, however, this wine is very clean and balanced and has aged nicely. It still has a year or two left, but if I had any more I would be drinking them up.

  • Dark ruby with transparent brick red hues.
On the nose, dried fruits, dried herbs, dried cherry and smoke. Some development here on the nose but it is also subtle and elegant.
Smooth entry with dried cherry, earth and herbs. Drinking well now. Long finish with grippy tannins.

  • Decanted and poured, this showed above expectations and currently shows a rich, expressive wine that is at or around maturity. The aromatics combine detailed notes of tar, leather, floral, mocha, cherry and earth. The bouquet is rich but expressive and focused. The color is a dark brick that is correct for the wines age. The wines gives the impression of being in a richer, modern style. The medium bodied palate shows outstanding balance and length. This is at or around its peak but gives the impression that it will drink well for at least the next 5 to 7 years.
