Opened by Allred at Anvil. An orphan bottle that turned out brilliant. This was very youthful in appearance with no bricking at all. Initially primary with dark fruits and floral notes. Through the meal, the secondary flavors appeared with leather, cedar and an herbal note. This was an absolute gem.
Another of the abandoned bottles of a former club member, we were not sure what we would get from this bottle. Decanted off its sediment and served immediately. Deep garnet core with a light meniscus. Notes of red berries, cedar, leather, currants and violets to start. As it sits, the leather component strengthens and earthy notes emerge. Full-integrated and nicely balanced, featuring flavors of plum, currants and violets. Hints of leather and cherry on the medium finish. All things considered, a very nice bottle. Only one way to go from here- drink now. 91+ pts.
