My friend served me this wonderful wine from a bottle opened the previous night at a dinner tasting. I've had this vintage of QDC before, and it is an outstanding bottle. This example blew me away, an incredibly concentrated complex and well-aged dessert wine. Outstanding.

A gathering of great wine and beef (Chez moi): Enjoyed this very much. My principle reference point for sweet Chenin is Gigou's Jasnières. This is richer and creamier. Not to say that it isn't fresh and bright. Paired nicely with a selection of cheeses and a peach galette. Should develop further over time.

Great Champagne and Burgundy Dinner (Park Ridge Country Club): From 375 ml bottle. Possibly the least powerful of the 4 vintages, but the best balanced. Mango, peach and candied orange peel with a bit of apple, all well supported by good minerality.

Apricot, some baking spice on finish. A bit riper and opulent than some other vintages of this we have had. Nice compliment to a Zingermans pumpkin cheesecake

Via Napoli - Pizza and Wines: Half bottle. Floral, vanilla, woody spices and a little herbal note. Moderate sweetness on the palate, with nice bright fruit and acidity keeping things fresh and balanced. Has the structure and fruit to age with considerable grace.

I like these wines. The fruit is restrained enough that you can sip on them on a hot afternoon with the wine being very cold but they work just fine as an after dinner drink a little warmer. I get some apricot and even a little pear from this bottle with nice acidity and a medium to heavy palate.

An Evening in the Loire Valley: Westchester Wine School (White Plains, NY): Drank at Loire WWS tasting. Pale straw color-this wine is young! Nose of apricot, and orange peels. Fairly viscous, but nicely balanced by the ample acidity level. Vibrant and youthful, honey, orange peel, & peach/apricot. This is a lovely wine but needs another 5-10 years of bottle age to truly appreciate it

I like this kind of wines, a lot of residual sweetness, nice acidity, some petrol notes, almonds, comparable to a German Auslese, very balanced, fits perfect to fois gras

From .375. Popped, poured, and followed over the next day and a half. Intoxicatingly complex nose when first opened. The palette showed much simpler, however. Over the course of the next day, the palette put on some amazing layers of honey and sweet citrus blossom, with the finish revealing a lifted mineral and herbal acidity that just blew me away. Hold to 2016.

Skrukork så ingen oksidasjon her!

Nose of dried fruit, orange zest and spice. The palate is medium sweet, orange peel and some spice too. My notes, taken at the end of long evening, don't do this wine justice, this really is an excellent wine.

My first QdC (can I do that?). While certainly high on the "yum" scale, I was underwhelmed in that there was very little complexity, and not all that much depth. I probably opened this too soon, but that 375 ml bottle was staring at me and I couldn't resist. Has great stone fruit, but moderate acidity. Not cloying.

(at The Modern – NYC) From 375ml. Young unformed and slightly anemic. Pear is the primary characteristic. Not nearly as complex or complete as other vintages I have had, but this is still a baby. (89+?)

Philadelphia Wine Festival (Marriott, Philadelphia PA): God I love Quarts de Chaume! Tropical fruit, quince, apricot, and honey, with some nuttiness. Finish could go forever. Very sweet, but with well balanced acidity that keeps it fresh and not even a hint of being cloying.

deeeeeeeeelish. enough quinine to satisfy any gin and tonic lover! plush texture with the trademark chenin zap of acidity. perhaps not the depth of the 2004, and certainly not as sweet or layered as 2005. regardless, I love this stuff.
