  • I wasn't surprised to find this wine an excellent, balanced, joy of a "quaff," but that didn't make the experience of enjoying it any less gratifying or refreshing. This is exactly what makes French wines of its ilk so irreplaceable (save for the same realm derived) and special, so adapted to my needs as a drinker of wine. What a great bouquet. The transition to the palate is a pleasure. The tannins are spot on integrated. The alcohol effect transcended by the "I don't know what" essence of fermented grapes, making this something infinitely different from a glass of grape juice mixed with 2 shots of vodka. It's been a while since I've smiled just from the pleasure of a quaff of great wine.

  • Really nicely made. Medium vibrant color. Earth and spice on the nose. Dark and red fruit with leathery spice. Nice integrated tannins. Not as balanced on day two.

  • Deep purple-red. Full-bodied. Complex; dust, cloves, black pepper, raisins, plums, herbs all work together on nose and palate. Well-structured, balanced, smooth, and lush; still some tannic bite. Has a nice life left yet; 90+

  • Beautiful dark and pure colour. Very complex and charming nose - notes of currants and cherry topped with a slight touch of "garrigue". Very soft an the palate although there is plenty of tannins to keep this going for 5-8 years. Great wine and great value for money.

  • At my birthday party (@ jack's place):

What a lovely & charming French country wine. Good dark fruit, mineral and some herbs on the end. Still tannic & wound -- but very good, now.
I am so charmed by this wine. Too bad there is no more for sale :(

  • KICK in the groin! This wine has an unreal bouquet of pickles, wet stones, tart cherries, moss, lead, huge raw beef and more. This is still tannic and could lay down for a few years as the tannins still prevail in the mouth. The palate is slightly chalky, with flavors of sour tobacco, some licorice, and a lot of minerality. Has a medium to long peppery finish. This wine is a great value as it can go for 5-8 years, IMHO it will integrate even more. Lots of charm.

  • This is sensational for a $15 bottle. Aromas of black cherry, herbs, and earthy notes. More of the same on the palate with additional plum, mineral and tobacco flavors. The wine has great freshness and a long finish that shows off the ripe tannins. This wine should drink well for at least 5-7 years if not longer. Great value. Still great on day two.
