Cellared way too long. Bland all throughout. Not undrinkable, but certainly avoid opening when expecting a treat. Will give winer maker benefit of doubt vs. timing.

This was a gift from a good friend. Wasnt to sure what to expect, but decided to have bread (artisan whole wheat) with dipping oils and balsalmic vinegar. Upon opening, nose of red ruby fruits and pencil lead/graphite. Color tones on pouring was lighter than expected, light ruby red. We are NO experts on Italian wines, so wasnt to sure what to expect. Initial taste theres was NO fruit, extremely earthy and meaty. As I began to finish the first glass (10-15 mins), small amounts of fruit began to come out. Second pour, and everything had changed, as expected. Lush ruby fruit, specifically rasberry, with still hints of earthy notes. Very smooth, not harsh. Was a very enjoyable bottle and will purchase more in the future.

Popped and poured. Appearance: a nice ruby red with a violet tinge to the edge (4/5). Nose: on opening a bit reticent with aromas of red berries like lingonberry, after half and hour, still reticent, but with a bit of vanilla complementing the lingonberry (10/15). Palate: fairly light-bodied with a bit of tannins, lingonberries on the tongue as well, after a while some more depth with plums coming out with the lingonberry, a bit spicey on the finish (13/20). Overall: this was quite a nice wine, with lingonberry in the forefront. A good weekday quaffer, could go well with game. We had it with spaghetti bolognese and the tomato sauce didn't really complement the wine very well (7/10).

Drank after an hour. This wine is past it's prime. This was much better a year ago.

Classic style, somewhat harsh. Not too alcoholic, pleasant.

Harsh, rustic but pleasant. Great with greasy food. Classic taste, no over-extraction here.
