My second bottle in a few weeks from a new auction purchase. This is still drinking beautifully and good value for the sub-$20 price tag. Lots of cherry fruit, some spice, good acidity, and while a touch ripe/sweet, not overblown. Fell apart a bit on day 2, so I wouldn't give it much air, but still in a good place.

Not bad at all. Dried cherry, touch of vanilla, earth, raspberry on the nose. Light and bright on the palate. Light/medium body. Nice acidity in the back-end with a med+ finish. This won't get any better so I would say drink up.

Too ripe and candied for my taste. Very cherry cough syrup. Not particularly complex. Also maybe waited a year or 2 too long. Still, a decent drink if you like this sort of thing. Day 2 much more complex, but way more heat and even more like Robitussin. Dense chewy. I do not like the spiky heat or the cherry cough syrup. Girlfriend likes this kind of wine and liked it a lot. therefore a decent rating, and I appreciate that for what it is, its good, I just don't like this style of wine.. for me 78 points.. as I could not drink a full glass.

Oaky Alchy nose. Very acidic silky entrance. Bright lively cherry fruit with long fresh finish. Tannins fully integrated as well as the wood. Balanced. Most likely at its peak. Great example of the appellation.

Dull med ruby, restaurant too dark to eval for ambering but probably a little there given the brownish dull hue to the ruby, anyway nice effusive aromatics with some fading ripe red fruit on a host of forest and tobacco notes, bright enough acids hold the package together

Nice nose of black cherry/raspberry with some heat, vanilla. Very sweet on the palate, with cherry jubilee, black jam, mocha. Despite sweetness, does have a silky feel and nice balance with acidity. Finish somewhat dry, though with tang and spice with length.

Prominent volatile notes on opening, which do seem to subside after some air. Still, this remains a very fruit-forward wine, without the cut I look for. While much better than previous bottles, in the end it's just not my style.

Dark red/purple color with a big nose of cherry, spice and oak. Bold, rich, ripe, sweet, dark cherry flavors with a full body and a lush mouthfeel. Nice balance and a very fruity, sweet and slightly acidic finish. Much better than a bottle I had about a year ago. A much bigger wine now - very Californian style.

The color is stunning. Cherries and cola flavors abound. There is a richness to the wine too. The nose is light oak, crushed red fruit and light cocoa powder. The wine is becomming elegant. Very nice. Not much earth here, but the wine has a style all it's own. Velvet smooth on the finish which is perfect in length.
More time will only allow the wine to become better.

A giant dose of alcohol on opening -- hard to get beyond it to find anything else. The palate shows some nice red fruit, but also a fair bit of finishing heat. Over the course of a few hours, it doesn't get much better.

Big, but also hot, nose of red fruits, spice earth and oak. Medium bodied with rich, full flavors that match the nose. Good balance, but it fell apart at the end with a short, bitter finish. Nice flavors, texture and balance, but the finish leaves a bad taste in your mouth (literally!).

Pleasant, yet ultimately simple and relatively uninteresting. Dark ruby color. Dijon clone aromatics of dark fruits, a little bit of oak accents, but very little else. Only with several hours decanter time did additional elements of anise and cinnamon reluctantly emerge. Seems a bit hot and overextracted, with substantial tannic bitterness marring the finish. I suppose it may still improve slightly, but as far as personal preference goes, it's just not quite my style...taste and learn I suppose.

Opened not decanted. Took to Belanico's in Oakland. Here's another plug for the restaurant: starters were amuse bouche - smoked trout on a cracker bread; eggplant on a cracker bread; beet ravioli; the most incredible swiss chard appetizer I've ever had: shaped like a small football about the size of a couple of large eggs; fall off the bone lamb shank with so-so polenta and desserts consisting of a cheese plate and affrogoto (chocolate ice cream, whipped cream and expresso). By far, the best restaurant in Oakland right now. Highly recommend.
We had the J.K. Carriere Pinot before we went to the restaurant, and my wife preferred that to the Radio. I preferred the Radio. The wine was complex with rich tastes of cherry fruit, with spice and touches of orange citrus undulating on the palate. But there was also a thinness to the wine that just didn't have any depth. It was hitting all the right flavors and was well made, but seemed narrow and compacted. Good.

Popped and poured. First whiff shows alcohol, cola and spice cake; somewhat disconcerting to find the alcohol so prominent on the nose, along with a fair dose of oak. Palate likewise fairly hot. Over the course of a few hours the alcohol seems to dissipate, but it develops a bit of a charred quality. Not my favorite vintage of Neblina, not at this point anyway.

Spicy cherry cola on the palate. Soft red fruit on the nose, the spice is not present on the nose. The color is cola like as well. Very rich and very complex as well. A truly nice pinot. Every year Radio-Coteau continues to sharpen their craft and make better and more prolific wines. A true favorite of ours. I think this wine has the ability to age too, possibly to 2012-2014. nose: nice soft but sweet nose filled with black cherries, spice tones, bits of cola and nice tart dark plum tones to round it out
taste: smooth with nice acidity providing tones of black licorice, black cherries, tart spicy tones, and a dollop of cola
overall: Well put together with pretty aromatics and a nice medium/light feel on the palate. Smooth attack of black cherries with a nice and lasting black licorice finish

I could not wait to have another bottle so I only gave it 2 months to develop. This time I opened, decanted and let rest for one hour. Earthy nose, almost like smelling fresh soil with a hint of dark fruits. This pinot rolls of your tongue. It is very silky and velvety. This is not your typical california pinot. Subtle black cherry and plum flavors followed by a great lingering mineral finish. You can almost taste the terroir. You could say that the finish of this pinot is the best part. Can't wait to have the next bottle in 6 months (if I can wait that long).

Nice wine; seems like Sonoma Coast Lite compared to the impenetrable Terra Neuma, which is not entirely a bad thing. Nice nose, slightly spicy, good rich fruit. The mouth seems a bit dry; the length is good, but also a bit undefined. Seems like it could use a bit of time to soften the edges, and seems a tad expensive at $50 all in, but a nice drink.

Dark earthy side of Pinot Noir. The color is beautiful, traditional lighter red. Quite complex at this point, but lacks a little balance. A bit astringent, but I think that could melt away with a little time. A sweet candied cherry note was pushing through as the bottle opened up. I think the wine at this stage would go well with food, or else wait a while before opening. A refreshing approach to PN, but just needs a little time to come together.

Very tight on opening. Eventually opened up a bit after an hour or so revealing cherry and muted spice notes. Not what I would expect from California - seems more stylistically French. I'd expect that with some bottle time this will develop and show more.

Great texture and weight in this balanced pinot. Not overdone, but still with great extraction of cherry, leather, and topped off with a long earthy finish.

nose: nice soft but sweet nose filled with black cherries, spice tones, bits of cola and nice tart dark plum tones to round it out
taste: smooth with nice acidity providing tones of black licorice, black cherries, tart spicy tones, and a dollop of cola
overall: Well put together with pretty aromatics and a nice medium/light feel on the palate. Smooth attack of black cherries with a nice and lasting black licorice finish

Nice... after two underwhelming Pinots this week, I finally found what I love about the grape... translucent garnet red color with baking spice aromas, refreshing cherry fruit with cinnamon, nutmeg, and even caramelized pineapple flavors and a long sweet finish... mmm

Plum color with an earthy nose. Cherry and spice on the palate. A bit dry on the finish.

Spicy dark berry (huckleberrry?) nose really jumps out of the glass right now, followed with smooth, berry flavors that just float on the palate, spicy balsa wood, and a minerally finish. Really drinking nicely.

Great bottle of pinot. I will give the other bottles a year to develop.

Wines From Around the Globe Overwhelmed My Taste Buds (Fairway, NYC): Oddly effervescent at first. This blew away, but was flat. Better after an hour. Some cherries, but not much else.

Dark ruby color on pour. Not very complex out of the bottle. Let it breathe for a while or spend a couple more months in the cellar. --MD

Deep color, very fruit forward pinot. Tones of black cherry with a bit of black pepper. Slightly astringent mouthfeel. Clean finish. --rea

Very tight on opening. Eventually opened up a bit after an hour or so revealing cherry and muted spice notes. Not what I would expect from California - seems more stylistically French. I'd expect that with some bottle time this will develop and show more.
