  • Ruby red, quite cloudy. Powerful nose of tart and dark cherry, wet animal fur - sauvage, red spices, stones, meat/blood, and some citrus/ citrus zest. Full and rich and exciting, not subtle at all, quite complex. Still cold from the fridge (opened last night at dinner, but it had been lying on its side), quite tart with the cherry, medicinal aspects, and stone. A little austere and bony in the mid-palate showing lots of acid and smooth but assertive tannins, but it fills out nicely for the finish with the dark cherry, spice and meaty aspect. This might improve with another day or two open. Nose - 5.5/6, Palate - 4/6, Finish - 5/6, Je Ne Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 16/20.
