What a fun wine... definitely has the sangio body (elevated acid and tannins) and fruit profile (red fruit and dried flower petals), but had a new world boldness. I have had plenty of New world sangio that just doesn't maximize on the varietal, but this one is very smartly made. The tannins have softened and this is ready to drink, but there is absolutely no hurry and will likely continue to improve for at least another 3-5 years.

Very big wine for a Sangiovese. My friend who had it with me over Italian dinner said that it was more like a Cabernet, which you could expect from Staglin. It still had lots of different fruit in the mid-palate, but not over the top fruity. The finish was pretty short. For the price, I think you would be better off sticking with a good Italian Sangiovese.

This is an awesome Sangiovese, and an awesome wine! Cab lovers would love this; it's complex, rich, and silky with good palate weight. The fruit is deftly balanced with good structure.

I really struggle with this wine. New world sangiovese just doesn't do it for me. This overly fruity and hot. It does not show the classic Italian dried fruit characteristic. I'd much rather have a Chianti or Brunello over this.

Very good example of a excellent sangiovese. Soft and caressing, good dark color, nice flavors of bright fruit, perhaps some black berry and raspberry and gentle long finish

Drinking very well. Brisk cherry and cranberry with tannins removed. Drink it now. Went very well with a bolognese.

Surprisingly good. Lots of tannins and fruit. Long finish. Good for a few more years.

Solid sangiovese, but not at this price. Better Italians for the money.

A bit watery. Really nice fruit but not drinking as well as earlier vintages.
