I had been holding this wine since 2010 but decided to drink it based on the drinkability report. Well, this revealed a delicate, soft and supple expression of Pinot Noir..an absolute pleasure on the palate with very fragrant bouquet and texture. Among the best pinot's which I have enjoyed in many years

This is drinking well. The past two years have helped it. Lighter color, with good baking spice and floral notes supporting the black cherry fruit. Strong acidity remains, and the finish is smooth. No rush to drink up. This avoids the pitfalls of some 2007s that have become flabby. A-

Medium ruby, chalky floral nose. Dry, lightly tart with after sweetness of raspberry, caramel note. Lovely light body and fruit on the Pnp. Finishes with some light tannins and celery, very well balanced with light acid, good silky mouth feel. Getting better in the glass with some air. Another night and the bright fruit with nice acid element is showing along with some smooth tannins and velvety mouthfeel. Really nice food wine. Hot Damn, did this get good with another day! Luscious mouthfeel, beautiful balance of tart fruit and light tannins. Decant or leave in the cellar for a few more years. John makes some out standing PN, many years of life for this wine.

14.3% alcohol. Black cherry color. Pretty nose of black cherry, blackberry, and baking spice. In the mouth, velvety with ripe cherry fruit, baking spice, and a floral hint. Good acidity powers the wine through the finish. A-

Excellent Pinot, drinking nicely now. Drunk without decanting, and while it got better over the course of the meal (salmon), it didn't really need decanting as the tannis are fine and smooth. great nose and taste of red fruits.

Cherry, cherry, and more cherry! Secondary notes of oak, clove, brown sugar...nice floral aromas. A delicious wine that goes great with grilled pork tenderloin and spicy chipotle pepper cherry sauce!

Light crimson in color, with juicy red fruit and perfumed floral aromas. Ripe cranberry and black cherry fruits show with baking spice and a touch of black tea on the palate. Medium bodied and precise, with a savory texture.

Lost my specific notes but my recall is that the Holdredge pinots were good, very RRV in style, just pushing the envelope on ripeness level without feeling too ripe for me to like. 89-90

yound and not integrated. Give this a few years. Good acidity and structure. Not as fruit forward as other Pinot's I have had. Wish I had more than one.

I had this the other night with bacon wrapped scallops. Bright ruby color. On the nose, a bit medicinal at first, but with some air nice red cherry fruit notes come out. There is a bit of licorice and spice there as well. On the palate, the wine is round, medium weight, a touch of glycerin to the body, silky smooth going down with a bit of that 'crunchiness' associated with a Gevrey Chambertin. I noticed a touch of oak on the finish, but the oak notes are well balanced and integrated and not at all obtrusive. This is a fine, easy-drinking Pinot Noir that would appeal to most Burg lovers.

Wow, right out of bottle this was great. Dark red / black fruit and spice on a complex nose and palate. One of the first 2007 CA pinots I have had. I'm stoked about the vintage if this is any indication of the quality! I would drink this up. It has sufficient acidity and tannins to age, but I can't imagine it much better than this.

Opened for the first day of the draft. This is a terrific wine and my favorite RRV yet. Black Cherry. spice, clove are both deep on the nose and palate. The mouthfeel is plush but linear and clean. Overall a wine that has great balance with all the components clicking.

Gorgeous nose of black cherry, flowers, and baking spice. In the mouth, it's the texture that stands out. A velvety, plush wine with terrific purity and focus. The flavors on the nose come through with beauty and grace on the palate, with bright acidity and a long finish. A-

First night: popped and poured over a few hours. Rather light in the glass, a pretty ruby red. Immediately struck by the floral notes in the nose - acacia maybe - and how feminine the wine seems. Graceful and nicely balanced immediately, but with limited depth. Over time in the glass, the floral notes retreat and darker fruit flavors come to the fore, black cherry, some raspberry. Corked and finished on the second night and the dark fruits predominate with a distinctive spice on the tail end, a much more substantial wine and less feminine. Overall, a very nice bottle and feels true to the grape.

First look at this wine, and it is very youthful but showing very well. With a fuller glass, the color looked quite dark red. With a less full glass, the color was distinctly light. On the nose, beautiful black cherry, baking spice, and a floral note that John always seems to get in his wines. In the mouth, a textural delight. This has the velvety quality of Pinot already. Beautiful black cherry fruit layered with a hint of baking spice, a touch of minerals, and a kind of gentleness to the acidity. Long finish that shows a kiss of oak and plenty of smoothness. This is elegant and balanced, a really stunning and serious wine. Well done, counselor. A-
