Beautiful wine (cork), needed some air, in the bottle for a couple of hours. Complex layers of sticky date, eucalyptus, milk choc, smokey bacon. Medium weight, juicy palate of purple fruit, finish dry but not overly so... In the slot, but with some time left

Beautiful deep red colour. Abundant berry fruit aromas, especially blackberry, but also cherry. Succulent in the mouth. Tannins medium-soft but would probably improve even more with further ageing. Medium complexity. Sweet liquorice and cinnamon spices prominent initially but fade, not over-powering. Excellent, wish I had more.

Really singing now compared to last tasting. It gathered a lot of maturity for this medium bodied shiraz. After 4 hours of breathing, the nose has the layered dark fruits and musky soil to it and smooth a the way to finish with the taste buds agreeing to every drop of it. Finish could be little bit longer but considering it's not a full body, this is an excellent bottle and the time is right to drink up.

This bottle is a lot better than the last. Deep ruby coloured with plenty of tears. On the nose it's blackberry, vanilla, cream, sweet spice, tobacco and bbq meat in that order. in the mouth there is a monstrous core of savoury and spicy fruit (if you can imagine such a thing) that dominates the vanilla flavours that are prevalent on the nose. The long finish introduces notes of black pepper, sweet tobacco and slight leather that carry in the mouth. This kind of huge wine needs to have balance in order to work - more often than not it doesn't. But, fortunately, at this moment in time, with this cork, in this wine, it has that balance. Wonderful drop.

opened & poured..... deep ruby, nose has strong freshness, slight smoky, hint of veg but sweet fruits the main attraction..... same as the nose, sweet on mid palette of lovely plum, dark chocolate with smooth finish..... tobacco + slight mineral in background..... 2 hours late, darker tone took over but sweetness invaded to front palette all the way to finish.... alot more dark plums came forward 3+ hours, the forest sets in, the sweetness subsided & the earthiness surfaced.... very interesting ride

NobleRottersSydney - Taylors wines with Mitchell Taylor (Lucio's, Paddington): {screwcap, 15%} The 2002 is a clear generation younger than the 90s wines, with black, inky, iodine aromas and rich choco-vanilla undertones. The palate is ripe, very ripe, verging on raisin-like in flavour, with low-medium acidity, lots of powdery tannins, and a crashing wave of hot fruit that lands on the front palate and recedes after that. Manages a medium length finish, but it lacks charm and will probably only be a short-term prospect.

last bottle, colour starting to go brownish but still really drinkable. Quite powerful spice and sweet note... very expected pleasant surprise

Well past its prime.
However still has silky smooth mouth feel and a touch of fruit and spice.
Surprised me how well it held up.

Sweet and fruity nose. Lots of plum, soft tannins with a sweet finish. Medium at best. At optimum drinking. Very enjoyable.
