Bright berry red in color. Lovely lavender and berry nose. Rich, round red fruits on the palate. Cherries and anise. Polished tannins, great acidity and balance. Finishes long with dusty tannins and cherries. Got even better with food and air. Lovely.

Over a lovely lamb shoulder at W's. Bright red, lovely colour. On the nose, this was a Francois Lamarche signature. Spicy, rich, intense and ripe. I loved the nose. On the palate, it took time to develop. Ripe cherries and plums, hint of mandarin orange. Finish was decent, nothing too complex, but very enjoyable.

This is a bit of disappointment after a wonderful La Grande Rue 2006 two days ago. Obviously in completely different leagues. Good nose. Notes of red cherry, raspberry, strawberry with hints of oak. Initially it seems to be a bit thin and "mature" for a young Burgundy, soft tannins. Higher acidity than La Grande Rue, not as balance overall. It puts on more weight over the 2 hours meal but still with elevated acidity level. Will give this a miss. 90-91 pts.

This one was just beautifully open up while the cork was pulled. Very nice fruit, floral, gamy and spicy. The best of it was everything seems integrated nicely. The aroma was excellent. The tannin was very fine and silky. Integrated with fine acidity and fall of flavor, created a very stratifying palate. With medium(+) finish, I would rate this wine an solid outstanding. One the same evening, it compared to a 2001 Latour. Still it got a lot of attentions.

Memorial Day weekend tasting, 2008 Oregon Pinot Noir barrel samples (Northern Willamette Valley): The aromas here are so soft and beautiful. Smells like soft, wild, but somehow feral strawberries. Very tannic in the mouth showing big drying fruit, soil, and lots of leather. Lots of tannins on the finish, but it does smooth out a few seconds later. This is a very big wine to be drinking today. Needs plenty of time to come together. Scott Wright was mentioning that this is a bit oaky for his liking, but I didn't find the oak intrusive at all.

Wonderful earth and fruit nose. Lots of good acid and tannin still present. Delicous burgundy with some age
