The cool vintage really comes through. Pepper and cloves sit over cherry and plum, blackberry added as it warms, hints of bread and roasted coffee. Plenty of lightish cherry flavour supported by aniseed and coffeed oak, although finishes rather abruptly. The tannin gives hints of the typical Hermitage structure and the acidity has died down. Simply not the authority I expect from Hermitage.
