Pale, tending to orange at the rim. Gentle sweet fruit nose. Gentle sweet fruit on palate. Silky texture. Very fine resolved tannins and fresh acidity. Lingering sweet fruits on finish. Drinking well now but enough fruit, tannin and acidity to last another 5 years.

Jez IV annual Festive drinks (16th Dec 2011) - my favourite pinot of the night out of the 6 on show. Still young but shows a nice floral nose, fresh red fruit balance but decent acidity. Its elegant and shows its class and I think a few more years (3-5) will hopefully improve the experience even more. Have 2 left so not intending to open either for at least 3 years. Nice 1er Cru Burg

One of the most elegant and focused young red burgs I have had to date. I let it breathe in the bottle for about an hour before pouring. Excellent balance with fresh, but pleasant acidity and tannins very soft and almost unnoticeable. This is very high in the subtlety department and has none of the burliness that one usually finds in NSG (I did look up a map and Damodes is on the Vosne border so that makes sense as this is much more Vosne in body). Delicious cherry sap that starts out light but really builds through the finish. Long. Touch of sweet oak, marzipan on the finish. While still young this is very open for business and gives a lot of immediate burgundy happiness! 92+

Light, ethereal but retaining some backbone. Very good for the vintage.

Disappointing at present. Sweet fruit but rather thin. Reasonable fruit, soft tannin.

Very pale cherry red. Red fruits on nose with a touch of oak. Sweet, intense red fruit flavours build in mid palate. Very long finish.
