Decanted for 30 minutes prior to pouring. We should have let this wine breathe a little longer as the character developed as the evening moved on. Nice nose with essence of pencil lead, peppers, toast and mint. Soft tannins and nice acidity that elevates layers of mint, bell peppers, chocolate, figs and toast.

This wine has crossed its peak. After a 1-hr decant, the red fruits were still prominent, and 2 hours in, it had improved somewhat, but never reached its potential. Complexity no longer there. Drink up now.

Wow I was pleasantly surprised when I went down to my cellar to pull a nice Cab for Sunday night that this was a 2005 instead of a 2007 as I had entered into the CT database. This was tagged as an 07 and I was glad it had a few more years under its belt. I splash decanted this and it was a wonderful wine. It had that classic Napa profile: cassis, cedar, eucalyptus with dark fruits. Drinking just perfect right now and we killed this bottle before dinner.

(A-) Huge oakville nose of blue fruit, vanilla, and toasted oak. It smells like it has serious pedigree. Nice viscosity and an evolving flavor profile. Starts out a bit dumb, but air brings out lovely blue and red fruit mix and a creamy finish. I think the wine is still in a slighly closed phase. Hold.

Red fruit and herbs on the nose. Medium-long finish. Still holding up, but appears to have crossed its peak.

Very new world Napa in its style. Slightly overweight in graphite components.

PNP, got better and better. Last sip was best yet. Believe CT drinking window is valid.

Wow. This wine has really matured nicely. Silky tannins, luscious fruit. This is peaking now.

Always solid even if lacking a little complexity. 2005 is a good year.
