Saw this on WineBid for $20 a while back and couldn’t resist. Wanted to see what Meiomi used to be like.
Cork was in perfect condition and came out with ease with the Durand. Medium dark garnet in color with some bricking on the edge.
From the nose, it appears to be over the hill – wet tomato leaf, wet tobacco leaf, wet pine needles, and stale spices.
Medium bodied, integrated, lively acidity, and a bit of sweetness in that 4-6g/l range. Upon the first sip, I was presented with something very complex and alive. Stewed and fresh cherries, plums, dried raspberries, wet leather, dried strawberries, toasted oak driven smoke, fresh tobacco leaf, a hint of milk chocolate, and assorted sweet baking spices. Still a decent amount of tannic structure that really helps elevate the wine. Long finish of cola (In a good way), limestone, saline, tobacco leaf, black pepper, and nutmeg. There’s a lasting finish of pine needle, toasted nuts, and juniper finish that coats the mouth after a glass.
Wow! This is good. The palate keeps developing with time open. It proves to me Meiomi used to be a quality wine before they sold the brand away. This has aged well and might be a bit past its prime. I personally think I would have enjoyed this more a 5 years ago with a bit more freshness in the fruits. The nose is the only reason why I am not rating this higher.

Decanted 30 minutes. Nice fruity nose, lotts a cherry. Still a fruit bomb on the nose but drank well. Still tannic but not acdic. I have 9 more but will wait a full year before I try again. Stil the perfect wine to serve if you want to impress a group of non experienced wine drinkers.

Love the single vineyard Belle Glos, but while this one was pleasant, it's less distinctive and there are better things out there at $25 (think Chehalem 3 Vineyard).

Definitely not a delicate pinot much like other Belle Glos's i have tasted. Also like others a good amount alcohol so some heat on the nose. Beyond that deep and not bad as a cheaper alternative to the taylor lane if you like it.

A simple one dimensional fruit forward pinot, cherry aromas and flavors, medium acidity and no complexity to speak of--------------should be half its $30 price tag. My score is generous.

This wine was all fruit...and "jammy" at that. No smoke/earth (which I love & look for). Only mid-level acidity and almost no tannic structure. A pop & pour, non-critical, fruit-forward, quaffer...but if I was looking for that in a Pinot, I'd grab a Mark West and save $15! I'm definitely developing my Pinot-palate and this solidified that Sonoma Coast is over-rated (for my taste, anyway). Then too, I've been a bit "Pinot-spoiled", of late. For me, it's about smokiness (RRV) earth-over-fruit (Sta. Rita Hills), and bright acidity (Santa Lucia Highlands).

Medium red. Lots of nice Pinot notes like cherry, vanilla and cola. Sweet flavours with some tannin but no real acid in the finish. I found it very interesting that when my wife and I finished our meals the bottle was still 2/3 full. We hadn't had even a sip with our food. We had finished our water glasses though. Definitive proof it is not a food wine. Very nice to sip though at both ends of the meal.
We bought this wine at an Earl's in Vancouver for $47.00 a bottle. Later we strolled by a pretty famous Vancouver place called Bin 942. In the window they had the menu and winelist and the price there was $90.00.

Good fruit, but pretty ripe. For fans of that rich, easy drinking style of pinot. The fruits are bordering on black. Slightly bitter finish. Ok, but not much more. Mid 80's.

84-86 at best. Comes off rather hot at first. Fruit is somewhat muddled behind spicy, toasty, oak and alcohol. Eventually it opens up and the ripe raspberry and cranberry fruits come out. The heat never fully sheds. A nice warm spic element finishes this one off. Acid level is decent, but not high enough for food. A bit unimpressed to tell the truth.

My feelings about this wine are largely in synch with the earlier notes of LKWG, including drinking window, give or take. Opens up with a bit of earth on the nose, which blows off leaving aromatic dark pinot fruit. Palate is medium-bodied, fruit forward / cherry pie presence with a longish finish. Could be a bit more complex, but perhaps that will come with some time in the bottle. However, doesn't have the same resinous quality offsetting the fruit as some of the bigger ones from California. Surprisingly, this was a few points better 3 days later (90 pts).

Popped and served. Ruby in color. Earthy aromas along with red fruits, cranberries, raspberries and some beetroots. The wine is medium bodied with nice integrated tannins and slightly simple. The fruit-forwardness of this wine makes it fairly easy drinking. Drink for up to 2 years.

I drank it past its prime, but it was still pretty smooth and delicious. Drank it after dinner, not with, and is just fine on its own.

Was good by itself but overpowered by a meal that included balsamic vinegar. Not overly complex but smooth and enjoyable.

Enjoyable. A simple sipper. Didn't do much for veal chops, buttered spinach and roasted fingerling potatoes.

Power vs. Finesse (Farpointe Cellar): The nose had sweet cherry, smoke, and spice. The palate was soft, and had brown spice, cherry, and smoke.

Notes from memory. Enjoyed at a party, but not interested in finding again. Simple, young, red fruit flavor profile. A tiny bit of tannic structure.
