  • This is just an excellent wine, if the style is up your alley that is because it's unmistakably Vogue. Barley water, touch of malt, strawberry cake, ripe cherries, for such a powerful nose, it has a nicely refined palate with powdery tannins; a dialed back version of the Musigny but you can see the similarities here.

  • VR vs CM good producers (Shin Terrior): Blind, bright ruby in color, good fruits, touch of mint, orange peel, cherry, slight VA, violet, good freshness. Dense on the palate with touch bitterness on the finish. Tannins quite resolved. Not a fan of Vogue's wine but suppose it needs lots of age to show and this definitely showed well.

  • Vosne / Chambolle 1ers from good producers theme: Easy tell as the Vogüé (we did single blind). Nicely balanced with attractive dark red fruit, with some coffee notes. Guessed 2010 because of the purity of fruit.

  • Some bitterness at finish prevented this from higher rating.

  • Dark fruit, a little rough and not the singing type. But a good Vogue PC still.

  • Drunk over 2 days, opened 1 hour before and not decanted.Beautiful musigny color with rounded and light fruit nose. Not concentrated, light tannins with light balanced fruit.Nicely velvety on consumption.Easy to drink but not much weight or power to finish.Very little change on day 2.Ready to drink with little improvement likely.

  • PNP. Red/black color, minimal signs of age. Red cherry, spice, soil and a menthol element on the nose. Medium weight palate, ripe but not overly sweet. The palate has good energy, mild extraction for a Vogue, good energy and a bit silky. Mild tannins and structure on the finish. This is a competent burgundy, well made but lacking fireworks and excitement. One of the better 06s from my experience.

  • {bought on release; perfect fill; opened, consumed 1-3 hours after opening. Drunk with LT and JL} Magic. Essence of Pinot Noir on limestone soil. You could spend the night just inhaling the scent of this wine. Dark fruits, not-quite-forever length, great depth, superb tannins and balance. Still young but approachable.

  • Blind. Earthy, dark fruit, some green, but although a bid edgy there was a lot to like, first and foremost emerging complexity.

  • This is much more expressive and lifted on the nose compared to the Meo, but less deep. Lavender, red flowers intermixed with very fresh fruits and touch of autumn leaves.
Lovely layers and delineated on the palate with silky tannin. Understated in style, never showy. It has the classy restrained from this prestigious vineyard. Elegant and refined.

  • At first, very firm and tannic. Decanted for one hour to soften it. Youthful color. Just the slightest hint of brown on the rim. A bit of heat on the nose. Sweet herb, mint, oriental spice, wood. Not a lot of fruit on the nose. Bright, juicy, ripe sweet strawberry on the palate. Smoked meat, pepper. Still a bit chewy. Probably could have used another hour of air. Quite a bit of acid, but balanced by the fruit sweetness. Good length with sweetness all throughout. Very fine finish. Excellent Burg, but needs more time. Leave alone for 3 to 5 years at least.

  • Dinner with Jean Luc from Comte Georges de Vogue and his wife.
I had this wine before, numerous times, and I really like it allot.
    A baby Musigny.
    This time from Magnum.
Chambolle red pretty flowers, loads of spices, berries and cherries, stones and dust.
Palate again shows clean and transparent red berries (raspberries darker cherries, tarter cranberries and rhubarb) and a streak of minerals normally only to be found in a mine.
Very good length and absolutely superb depth and structure.
I have to give it 95 points, since it's just such a fine Chambolle!

  • {bought on release, perfect fill. Pop N Pour at Confrerie event. Same batch of wine for tasting note posted in 2017} Dense wine that needs air. Gorgeous fruit but austere, regal start now and needs decanting. Very long. Fine tannins and structure. An hour after opening just shook my head in regret that I hadn't opened this wine at home and brought it with a partial decant. Rated it 92 tonight.

  • First bottle, and the pedigree shows. Blind tasting it you really do think its Musigny, which it is. These vines are now getting ready to be used in the VV. Great finish.

  • Musigny Blind (Extra Space): Tasted blind. Drank from decanter over 3 hours.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of wet stone minerality, earth, sweet floral perfume, sweet spices, some savoury meat, and dark stems with more air. Developing.
On the palate, dry, very high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), soft medium tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet ripe red cherries, earth, wet stones minerality, spices, slight savoury meat. Some bitter dark stems with more air. Long finish.
Very good quality. Real good stuff. Youthful shell already peeling off, but still has way to go to achieve more development. Try again in 5 years.

  • A relatively spicy and powerful nose. The red and black fruit aromas are balanced and there is also subtle earth and tea. There is also excellent balance to the palate. Although the tannins are smooth, there is plenty of underlying extract and power. I enjoyed this wine, but it is still requires some time to reach it's peak.

  • Dark ruby with black-purple core; reticent black dark fruits and an austere mineralty--not giving up much at all, very closed; palate is the same, with impressive tannins and good balance for a muscular wine. This is apparently declassified young Musigny fruit, and it shows. The 2008 Musigny I had a while back was much more open and complex in comparison. For an '06 of this level, not sure why this would be so backwards at this point. Unless the '08 Musigny is now shut down as well? Anyone have some insight? EWG Lunasia.

  • {bought on release, perfect fill, pop n pour at Confrerie de Tastevin business dinner} Spectacular red floral nose, red >> black fruits, still some unresolved tannins with beautiful balance between fruit/acid/tannin; in mouth like some confiture of raspberries and other red fruits, touch of liquorishness. Finish very very long. Wonderful and needs a few more years to fully unwind but a marvelous wine tonight. Just beat tonight by the (truly superb) '06 Ponsot Clos de la Roche but in 10 years I think this wine will come out on top. The '06 de Vogue Musigny must be marvelous based on this young vines performance.

  • tasted alongside the 07 de Vogue Amoureuses.
This wine was much more wound up, and needed as much airtime as we would give it. A bit of Amoureuses meets Amarone. Big, tight & tannic with huge upside potential. Yet round and fleshy. I see the iron fist in velvet glove analogy here. Loud and clear in fact. This is a powerful wound up tannic wine which shows licorice, cranberry, and overall berry liqueur. A hint of the magesty of Le Musigny. kR&G-Boom!!

  • Slow oxed for 4 hours. This is young but grand cru quality, no doubt. Black fruit, mixed berries, tiny bit of oak, and velvet. Palate was initially tight but it opened up more in the glass. The structure was phenomenal. The floralness and black fruit sweetness emerged slowly in the glass. Give this wine 10 years. It has 1 pt upside from here when its fully mature.

  • Still young. Nose and taste lots of fruit and density, minerals, spices, soft tannins. Lots of everything, will improve in time when the wine comes together and becomes more balanced. Still a very good drink already now.

  • Wonderful nose, complex, clean, cool and intriguing.
    Top class Burgundy.
Lovely minerals, red berries, flowers, Chambolle perfume, spices, stones and dust, touch fine wood, and incredible lovely green and herbal notes, almost stems.
Palate is perhaps even finer, super clean and transparent with airy red berries, fat raspberries, darker cherries, tarter cranberries and rhubarb, superb depth and structure with good drive and power, and an incredible length.
Spices and minerals, with the lovely green stem spices for some extra oomph and firmness.
Indeed very lovely and very Musigny in expression.
A superb 1:er Cru, and in an even better place right now than last time I had it, a year and half back.
A killer wine, at a great place and for the price tag just a steal.
Still has loads of years left in it.

  • Opened, not decanted and drank over 2.5hrs. Very reserved at first; only showing faint glimpses of black fruit. After 45 minutes or so it began to open up some, but overall stayed quite compacted all evening. Very dark berry fruit with some faint Asian spice hints. Firm palate. I'll try to let the rest age in the cellar a few more years; perhaps a decade for the Musigny itself.

  • Birthday dinner at Sichuan Douhua. Served as a pair with the Hubert Lignier Charmes 07. Dark red, almost inky and transparent. Like all Vogues, I think it simply needs time. No slight to the wine, but it did not show too well this evening. Dark violets, currants and spice. Nose was very Vosne like. Palate was deep and structured, blueberries, raspberries and tart cherries. There seemed to be some bitterness on this wine, and the finish was rather one dimensional. I gave this lots of time in glass, but it didn't improve much. I would say its perhaps in a "shut down" phase. Towards the very end, there was rose petals, chamomile, toffee and orange cream. I'm going to give my remaining bottles at least 10 years of age.

  • The scent is absolutely phenomenal but rather closed from the start, need time in the glass, and a long decanting is necessary.

The nose is dominated by fresh strawberries, spices, raspberry, mineral, cherry and power.

Taste. Wild raspberries, spices, quite tough wine with very lovely tannins providing a good structure to the wine. After some time in the glass, you feel the sweet wonderful fruit, it´s a powerful wine with a feeling of almost perfect, good balance, raspberry, spicy pinot fruit and a aftertaste that never ends.

I'm not used to drink grand cru burgundy every day but for me this is a world class wine, even if it's downgraded to a premier cru

  • Color: light red
Nose; has a green nose but with cherries on the background upon opening but then opens up after time in the glass to reveal a lovely floral nose, gets more interesting in the glass, menthol, complex,
Palate: layered, sweet core but with loads minerals, still young, this is a good Pinot but not great, expensive in my opinion for the quality, outclassed by the 08 Henri bonneau cdp Celestins opened after this

  • Very similar to the bottle I had in 2012. Although, compared to the Rousseau Mazy, this was much cleaner and refined. Certainly Vogue in style.

  • CENA DI COMPLEANNO BORGOGNA: Ricavato dalle vigne più giovani del Musigny.
Vino compresso, tanta materia imbrigliata, frutto ancora primario e incapsulato.

  • Confraria - Abril (Le Chef Rouge Restaurant - São Paulo - Brasil): This producer is on another level. Young wine, but spectacular. Sober. Elegant. Accurate from beginning to end.

  • Red cherries, rapsberry, subtle floral lift but rather subdued compared to the 2009. Some very evasive secondary development; a bit of forest floor. Still very tight. The palate is more impressive. Excellent concentration, richness of fruit and the floral character runs through the palate. Good tannic structure and earthy bitter character (cherry stone) which in its youth came across as a bit feral. Mid palate is deep; there is matière and length here. Detailed complexity, not exactly opened and fully expressive but this already delightful and very promising.

  • - | Barthod | Bertheau | Mugnier | Ponsot | Roumier | Vogue | -: We changed gears to Vogue with all sorts of detailed polished red and black fruits. Such weightless presence in the mouth. More pleassure now than its big brother 06 Musigny a few weeks ago. A stunner of a wine!

  • VinGilles Chambolle-Musigny Tasting (Café De Klepel, Prinsenstraat 22, Amsterdam, NL): Broad shoulders, even from the younger vines this really has the weight and impact of a Grand Cru, silk and elegance, subtle and deep, perfectly at one with itself, so relaxed and confident, perfect balance. Fabulous wine, subtlety and power. Will age effortlessly.

  • Wow!
    This is great!
And the vintage has really developed since I first tried this wine up on release.
Loads of cherries, raspberries and minerals on the nose.
Clean fruit, with primarily raspberries, some rhubarb, and some darker spicy fruit in the super long finish, with minerals, earth and a great overall balance.
This is great, and not far from Musigny!
    I love it!

  • Drank over 3 hours. Very perfumed nose of pure raspberry, blue fruits, some wet stone and some other minerals. The palate matched with great clean fruit medium body, very primary with a long finish. Over time in the glass this turned more black fruit with more spice and took on more depth. Long lingering finish. Can't wait to try again in 5 or so years.

  • Although it's rather shy on the nose at this stage, the texture is ultra smooth and rich, while also very full and refined. The palate is very well balanced and glib, with flavors of cranberry, raspberry, and currant leading to a smooth and persistent finish. Opened at dinner and consumed over two hours, the fruit flavors became slightly more tart toward the end of the evening. Excellent on its own and slightly better with food.

  • Bottle 00064. Dark ruby red colour, with just a faint hint of bricking. Incredibly deep nose with dusty aromas of earth and very powerful black cherry notes. Definitely open for business. On the palate, this is very ripe, and it seems to me a bit extracted. Loads of sweet black cherries, as well as slight hints of earth, and black peppercorn. Modern in style, this is incredibly rich and dare I say delicious. Still quite primary, the tannins seem to still be as yet unresolved. Medium length finish with a hint of iron oxide. Seems to need another few years or so to calm down the youthful juicy exuberance. I never pegged '06 to be such a rich vintage.

  • I decant it .375 ml for 60 mins. Its smell opens up slowly, modern, easy to reach, easy to drink but contains a stunning long-finished.
    Better than I expected !!!
    Better than 2003 as well.
In next 10-15 years, this wine must be a good example of Chambolle-Musigny 2006.
ps. Vogue is not my type of wine...easy delicious Burg.

  • 2006 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Dinner (Wine Universe, Millenia Walk): Brilliant stuff - my first taste of this vintage since a very young bottle almost two years back, and this shows no sign of shutting down yet. If anything it was even better. From young (under 25 year-old) Musigny wines, this certainly represents the best value in the Vogüé range. It may not have the profound depth of the Musigny Vieilles Vignes, the warmth earthiness of the Bonnes Mares, nor the sexy voluptuousness of the Les Amoureuses. Yet for a price far lower than any of these, it delivers a wonderful package that is every bit as noble and intriguing as any of those other wines at a similar age. This bottle in particular had a beautiful nose - tight, but far nobler than the ultra-expressive Chambolle villages that came before it. Here, metal-infused earth and mineral scents mingled with some bacon fat, a slight hint of anchovy and some deep-lying pomegranate and blue fruit accents, all seasoned with sprinkles of dried, thymy herbs. Very serious and savoury, with just the lightest touch of flowers at the edges of the bouquet adding a little levity. One could tell the family resemblance to the Musigny VV here. All in all, a bit tighter on the nose than the last time I tried it, but still very nice, with the overt oak having receded somewhat. The palate was rather more impressive I thought. There were much more of those pomegranate tones picked up on the nose in the wine's attack, much clearer than on the bouquet actually, and then some pure blueberries and red cherry flavours were drizzled over a serious layer of earth and stone on the mid-palate. Lovely stuff, with pure fruit meeting noble structure. At once elegant and serious. The wine showed lots of strength and substance up to this point, but I thought it petered out just a little towards the finish. Still though, there was a very nice length as the wine slides away in a linger of spicy clove notes, beautifully clean and balanced all the way to the very end. A little iron fist in a velvet glove - the Domaine is spot on when they call this a Musigny in short shorts.

  • Decanted for 4 hours before serving. Still a very primary wine with sappy dark raspberry and cherry, violet notes and some toasty wood spice. The palate has firmed up since the last time I had it and is very mineral driven right now. Medium bodied with great acidity and a long finish. Beautiful wine and I look forward to seeing it evolve over the next decade plus.

  • Very primary at first; oozes red cherry and raspberry with violets, spice notes and wood. Very lush palate with great acidity and structure. An elegant wine with lots of power. At this stage very much like the Vogue Musigny I had not too long ago. I would definitely wait a bit to open this one.

  • Premium Burgundy Tasting @ Auric (APFW, Kallang): Very young, probably the tightest of the reds, but flat out brilliant. I loved this. Nose was overflowing with flowers - lots and lots of violets at the first sniff, and throughout the nose, weaving in and out of sweet morello cherry aromas and notes of earthy straw mushrooms, hints of savoury bacon, fresh herbs, a dollop of Burg funk and a little coffee note. Really beautiful nose - it was powerful and lush without being agressive. Elegant almost. Much the same on the palate. Firm, tight structure, quite a bit of extract, lots of power, but with a lithe elegance to it. Masculine, but in a graceful way - like a gymnast or a dancer. Again, I got beautiful flavours of dark cherries and crushed flowers with a lovely fresh underlying acidity, all with great focus and concentration from start to finish. And what a finish it was too - an absolute knock-out. I was floored. Incredible length, great power, tremendous persistence, with almost intense cherry flavours going on and on. De-classified young-vines Musginy it may be, but this was clearly Grand Cru stuff. Fantastic.
