This is a great everyday wine although for the price you could probably find a bit better but all in all not bad and very enjoyable. Had it with whole wheat pasta made with a cheese, mushroom, broccoli and chicken sauce.

85-90 percent Sangiovese with balance traditional Chian varieties. Ferrmentation In temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks@25-30C for 7 days, moderate extraction. Malolactic 2 months after primary fermentation. Barrel aging regimen--3 months in 6,000-12,000L Slavonian oak (1,200-2,400 gallons).
Double-decanted. Cork-finished (unimpressive). Denser purple-black than is usual for type.
Tight at first with anise, herb, and floral notes, with the cherry becoming more expressive with time.
Full Montmorency fruity cherry with a toucn of cherry-stone bitterness with a hint of volatility at first that disappears with swiriing. Crisp acidity with medium tannic mouthfeel. Moderately concentrated but with good length. With some time in glass, comes together nicely.
Served with zucchini and tomato casserole with mixed-cheese Reggiano topping, a very appetizing 'wash-down' match.
Drink now-2015. 88/100

Ruby with gray hues. Nose with hints of black fruits, meat and oak. Medium bodied with flavors of sour cherries, wood, oaky vanilla and coffee. Not complex, with a quite watery aftertaste. To drink now.

I liked this much better this time, I think I might have had a 2006 last time or there was an issue with the bottle because it was definitely lackluster.

TWATS VIII (Simmy's Pink Palace): Round I.Light color, translucent. Thin, smoke, glycerin. Cab? Dry fruit palate and cuts across. 70”s Mingy. Bosher burps and and Tim says this may be good with food. Itialian??
II. Sim” oh no! Dry old fruit, like a Mammason put back into the house”. Fallen dead.

This wine is a very sensual chianti. It has deep purple colors with medium body and good viscosity. Paired well with pasta. Aromas of fruit, cherry and blackberry. Mild acidity and tannins make this an easy to drink wine. Excellent for a weekday wine.

This bottle is consistent with previous notes. Additionally, the earthen floor nose that is characteristic of good Chianti was more like a barnyard floor. The son was uncharacteristically positive giving an 87.

The tannins and acid overwhelm the fruit in the bottle at this time. I suspect that condition will not change substantially as this wine ages. The blend has a very dark color for a Chianti, so the Sangiovese % is probably below typical. This takes away from the usual bright fruit and floral characters. The wine does not linger on the palate and finishes with a metallic taste rather than a rich spice and pepper. An unimpressive showing.

I've had this twice before and relatively recently and I thought I really liked it, but this time I was not as impressed. Seemed simpler than I remembered, not sure if it was a bad meal pairing (which it was) and that threw it off or if the wine just wasn't as good as I thought.

The taste reminds me a cherry, and strangely, a bit of a smoke. It was not a good match with the Shrimp Primavera that I had for dinner, but probably would have gone well with Shrimp Marinara, which I what I thought I was eating. Oops. It was, however, a very pleasant Chianti to have after dinner. I saved a few glasses to try with spaghetti latter in the week, and that was a fine pairing.
Just a tiny bit of tannins make me think that this would be ok with steak - not my first choice, but workable.

decanted for about 90 minutes before first glass. Had with meatballs and sauce. not much of a nose on it during the whole bottle. Got a tiny bit of cherry and some alcohol on the nose. On the palate the wine was very smooth with little or no tannins and a bit of alcohol on the back end. There really wasn't too much fruit to speak of. After being in the decanter for about 4 hours, the sour cherries just started to show through. Not sure if it isn't my type of wine, or whether the wine was closed up.

A nice fruit forward wine. Primary aromas and flavors of cherry, strawberry along with seasoned leather. More California than Italia but very tasty.
