Popped and poured. Christophe will be angry that we drank this as he won't claim anything that's not from estate grapes, but we thought it would be a good exercise anyway! Definite bricking along the edges as the wine was poured. Seemed to be DOA as there was a very muted aroma with not much fruit. Eventually, after about 30 minutes, some roasted fruit aromas trickled out of the glass. A hair tired on the palate with just enough plum and cherry to keep you interested. Essentially a 15 year old WA syrah. 87 pts. because of the history.

This wine is still ruby-red, with clear, but dense color intensity. Aromas of blackberries, spice, and a little coffee on the nose. Still lots of acidity, showing there are legs for more cellaring, but quite enjoyable at this stage. Would love to have had a few more of these.
