It is hard to believe that this quaffer rosé has been in my cellar or four years (see my August 2, 2010 tasting note). I opened it tonight to drink with a spicy shrimp and rice dish. Well, it is decent. It has a deep pink color that has taken on a little brick hue over the years. Its nose is strawberry, vanilla, smoke, and a whiff of flowers. The palate is citrus, gooseberry, strawberry, and vanilla. Fair length. Nice acidity. While nothing special, it is a drinkable rosé that has has most definitely NOT fallen apart since I last opened a bottle.

Nice orange/salmon color. Not a lot going on in the nose. Lemon, mineral, apple and marzipane - but very faint. Dull, with low acidity. No finish at all. I had lots of better rose.

I think winerookie hit it right on the nose. Bright strawberry and red licorice flavors, with underlying pepper and tobacco. Not my favorite rose in the world, but it had some interesting flavors that make it a little more exciting than most.

Intense pink/copper color. Earthy aroma of rotting strawberries along with tea leaves, butter, and flint. Very nice. Round and full on the palate. Big flavors of ripe peach, strawberry, watermelon Jolly Rancher, and orange peel. Stone minerality and peppercorn as well. Good length on the slightly buttery finish. A touch light on the acidity. Outstanding rose. Excellent QPR.

Not surprisingly, we waited too long to drink this wine. We will try to use it for cooking.

Beau nez sur les fruits des champs. Fruit légèrement sucré, mais de belle fraicheur. Un rosé gourmand, un peu cher tout de même.

Refreshing, crisp, and food-friendly. Up-front strawberries and a pleasing tartness. Nothing memorable here, but pleasant.
