Popped and poured. Lighter in color and weight than other pinot opened tonight. Much more layered nose of black cherries, raspberry and spice with a hint of coffee grinds. Attack dominated by characteristic red cherries and cola. Medium mouth feel with good acidity; long, soft finish. Better balanced than the other pinot (Sonoma Coast) tried tonight.

Bright red. Smoky, peppery red fruit on the nose. Spice, sour cherries, red cherries on the palate. Balanced mouthfeel. Great with the Thanksgiving turkey.

14.4% alcohol. Terrific showing here. Red cherry color. Pretty nose of black cherry, light hints of blackberry, baking spice, and a faint floral note. In the mouth, racy and vibrant, with a light mouth feel but terrific purity. Coats the mouth with pretty, slightly tart fruit flavors. The spice and floral notes take on a more prominent role as the tangy acidity asserts itself. Very smooth finish. A-

My tastes have changed quite a bit since i bought this at the Gary Farrell tasting room in Russian River in early 2009. Nevertheless, while it may not be my preferred style anymore, i found it to be quite delicious after dinner sipping wine - wonderful red fruit and well integrated oak flavors (mainly vanilla and some spice). not a lot of acidity and i wouldn't say i'd recommend it with food, but if you like fruit-forward pinot, you'd probably like this a lot.

Very nice food wine since on the lighter side of Farrell's pinots and very burgundian. Very smooth and nice balance of fruit and acidity. Ready to drink now and might do well for a few more years.

Pale garnet/pinkin glass. Yummi nose of Twizzlers red licorice wrapped in a layer of forest floor earth and asian spice. Well structuredwith a noce dose of cherry, crisp acidity, and a vegetal layer with spicy finish, think red hots. Very nice wine. New world meets old world. (b-)

Opaque red in color, with asmokiness on the nose with a smokiness and minerality. Tastes of darkred cherries with some strawberries and a nice minerality. Very nice wine that improved with time and air.

The star of the show from the Pinots at Gary Farrell on this day. Beautiful RRV nose of cinnamon, clove, and black cherry. Gorgeous texture in the mouth, with loads of fruit and complexity. Balanced and quite powerful. Long finish. A-
