Notes from day two, but not much change in wine. Blueberries, with some wood and vanilla. Same profile on the palate, although I also get some of the mocha notes that others identified as well. While not a fruit bomb, it's definitely a new world style and a bit too over the top for my palate. 86pts. Aloha!

Walker Trade Show (Providence): 10/23/09: People seemed to like this at the tasting we did, but I had some issues with this bottle. No freshness at all. Had a plummy, already maturing feel. There's some toasty mocha notes in here. The lack of freshness really got to me, and made it difficult for me to enjoy this. 85-86
9/14/09: Huge merlot. Lots of mocha fruit. A bit of a monster right now, more so then when I first tried it a year and a half ago. 88

Very unique Merlot as it was very viscous with a mocha and raspberry flavor, big tannins on the end that might mellow with age, gets a little mineral on the finish.

Wine Exchange Tasting: This is a tough one to rate. On the one hand, the fruit on the nose and front palate are almost too ripe, flirting with plumminess, and the coffee/mocha flavors are a little strong. Seems a little tarted up. But then comes the finish, with nice little grip, and a lovely mineral/ earth component that I really enjoyed. In conclusion, I found the wine behind the wine excellent, but the makeup a little too much. 87-89

Nice core of red fruit, dark fruit, moving into toast, spice; tannins a bit rough on the finish.
