Dark ruby, ripe cherry, plum nose. Dry dusty tannins, sour cherry, ripe plums. Medium fruit, not much acid for the long haul. drink up as it is turning flabby. About a week on the counter, dusty tannins, tart light bodied fruit, mellowed out for easy drinking, not too complex wine.

For the price point, this is a very solid blend (negroamaro, primitivo and cab sauv) with depth and complexity. Deep cherry red in color. Gravel and berry on the nose, with perhaps hints of raisin. Well extracted on tasting with black cherry, spice, dirt, raisin and olive. Not a long finish, but finishes with graphite and a astringency. Great with a red cream sauce, pizza with olives, or perhaps roasted duck with raisins/prunes. Won't last much longer but a great pour now.

We drank this with rabbit stew on 2/14/10. It had a decent bouquet with black cherry, coffee, cocoa, licorice, spice aromas. The palate was rich, smooth, nicely structured, medium bodied and balanced with flavors that followed the nose.

Either this was a much better bottle, or 6 months have done wonders to settle this wine down. Same flavor profile as post-decant in the last note, but much quicker to get there, and much more of a piece throughout. Once again, much better with food than without - great with a simple dinner of roast chicken and green beans. Good value here.

Dark purple color. Nose was an inviting coco dusted red licorice. On tasting it is mildly spicy at first which quickly gives way to gobs of ripe red cherries, which in turn follow through to quite a long finish for a wine at this price. While it lacks structure and could use a little more spice to balance the fruit, it is a good value for a very fruity, almost Zin like wine.

Solid purple with red reflective highlights. Raspberries and blueberries on the nose, with a little bit of leather. Rich cherry/blueberry taste, good acid, barely any tannins, a little heat in the back, and a medium to long finish. Holds together well - nicely balanced. Very good QPR.

color: dark ruby/violet nose: blackberry, cassis, plum and licorice. slightly pruney early on - but this (oddly) faded. plush and fairly sweet with plenty of dark fruit and licorice. smooth on entry with decent tannins that keep it from being too flabby. Some iron-laced minerality also showing. Good value and a fine example of modern styled wine from puglia. And to clarify conflicting notes: this wine sees NO OAK.

This is a good blend, Negroamaro, Primitivo, Cabernet, hence the name Ne-Pri-Ca, that has aromas of berries and spice with flavors of dark berries, chocolate with a nice balance. I would buy again and probably decant this one to see if it opens up.

decanted for about 45 minutes before first glass, poured back in the bottle after 3. Drank over 2 nights. On the nose, some licorice, and cherrys. Reading through, clearly most, myself included, are not familiar with this wine - hence confounding notes. First impression is that of 'Boujolais nouveau' - clean, fruity, red berry (cherry, pomegranate etc.) but heavier texture and complexity. Easy to drink, more suited to New World buds but easy food pairing as well. Great value.

Disagree w/WE90 rating. Light, subtle to the nose w/hints of chocolate & spicy licorice. Dry, medium bodied, light/mid-structure w/hints of dark berries, chocolate, licorice & cola. Does not hold long on palate.

Strong cherry, cough syrup nose. Tastes of more black cherry, charcoal, hint of licorice, but overall more of the artificial sugar taste. Saw an 90 rating and it's nothing close to 90. An average everyday drinker and priced right at $8.

Fairly tight nose with some dark fruit. Pretty juicy on the palette fairly dominated by oak, slightly shy of an oak bomb. Pretty impressed with the dark color and juiciness of this wine considering the price. Most wines at this price tend to be over cropped. This wine could be confused with a super Tuscan costing multiple times more. Loses a point for the heavy oak.

Black-purple, without a lot of promise on the nose, the juice explodes (after some air) on early and mid-palate with prune, candied yam and cassis. Just a bit rough on the finish, but makes one reminiss of sundowns in small villages in Apuglia, rustic food and memorable local 'vino genuino.'

Cherry, spice, and resinous zinfandel notes on the nose. Simple flavors, come accross muted to me, with a short finish. Not terrible, really, but disjointed. A bit cloying at first, hollow mid-palate, and bitter on the finish.

Currant, berries, and lots of black licorice candy with some liquid smoke on the nose. Immediate cedar gave way to some cocoa, and then it was all black licorice. All ass-n-elbows upon opening. Disjointed nose, acids and tannin out of whack, really sensed the alcohol. After 3 hours in a decanter, we came back to a different wine - dark red fruit, earthy/leather, considerably softer than earlier, but still with enough acid to hold it together. Popped and poured, I wouldn't buy again, but with some air it's a decent QPR food wine, though not exceptional at the price.

New grape I haven't tried before. The color is dark purple with limited translucence. Lots of legs on the swirl. The nose isn't too vibrant but our kitchen is full of Italian smells from Ali's pasta. When we opened this wine it was very fruity. On night two the fruit had subsided. I think it is great value at $8/btl from Costco. Dark fruits but not very complex.

Nose - lots of bitter chocolate, earth, & a grapy thang
Palate - pretty dense flavors of bitter chocolate, black cherries, maybe some chalk. Tannins are there but not intrusive & they add another layer. Really getting a lot of chocolate covered cherries. It finishes w/some metalic action. The finish takes a way a lil from the wine but its a pretty simple quaffer Very new world in flavor profile & style

Interesting body and character for the price. Interesting secondary things going on; Complex on the nose, blue cheese and wood on the palate.

Ripe black cherry, plum and light licorice flavors. Well-balanced, round, good structure and nice finish. One of the best southern Italian wines I have tasted.

Very dry, earthy, low in fruit, but with some berry, molasses, cola flavors. Good food wine. Excellent buy at $7.99 from BEVMO.

More body than similar wines. Nice fruit and oak. Loved it. But not with Jarlsburg. More of a Brie wine.

Lat Dec 2008 at a restaurant: red fruits and vanilla bouquet; interesting changing texture impressions, sometimes satin-like, sometimes withy; full body.

Great Red Italian table wine. Very nice fruit with vanilla and leather notes. Not too spicy and very smooth finish. Great value.

Color deep ruby & concentrated
Nose - lots of bitter chocolate, earth, & a grapy thang
Palate - pretty dense flavors of bitter chocolate, black cherries, maybe some chalk. Tannins are there but not intrusive & they add another layer. Really getting a lot of chocolate covered cherries. It finishes w/some metalic action. The finish takes a way a lil from the wine but its a pretty simple quaffer
Very new world in flavor profile & style

Light and simple, aged 8 months in stainless steel, inoffensive, but not impressed.
