Classic Bordeaux nose and palate. Pure fruit and long finish with tannins still present. Not quite as complex as I was hoping for with few secondary notes at this stage.

Deep but not brilliant garnet shows it's a bit aged. Nose shows little but some pencil shavings, oak, licorice and just a slight hint of horse poop. On the palate it's very dry without any sweetness, little fruitiness, little flavor contents to appreciate. Medium body. It's a bit tannic but not structured at all. Short finish, just a little hint of clove. 2 hours didn't make it open, so maybe that's it. Next day it even showed dirty cabbage flavor. Hollow, and no trace of richness, disappointing for the price, $37.

Classic cassis and and dusty leather nose. Balanced austere fruit, acidity and moderate tannins improved steadily after being decanted two hours and while in the glass. Moderate length finish.

Pop and pour. This wine has an ok attractive nose with pencil shave, oaky and light cassis aromas. However, all aromas are gone within an hour. Waited for anothe hour, the nose seems like all gone. The palate is ok with only some tannin left. My bottle seems like different than the ones drunk by other CT drinkers. 5+10+15+6=86pts

Holy crap is this ever a good deal at $36 CAD. Drank over three days, and the wine was interesting and different on each day. At first, earthy, tannic elements dominated. It clearly needed to open up, but still exhibited excellent structure and backbone. As it evolved, much more fruit appeared created a balanced, full experience that was ethereal. The '05 is twice as expensive but nowhere near twice as good. Recommended, if you can find any!

Dry tight and firm with a tannic finish with a plum flavour and good aroma. This needs to stay in the cellar for a few years after which it should be very fine.

Decanted about 30 minutes. Big fruit on first sniff. Red currant, cherry with a bit of wood & gravel. Med bodied, a bit of gentle grit from tannins. A bit too round, needing an acidic lift. Lots of big fruit up front again, with vanilla in there. This didn't quite cut through the creamy cheese & chorizo of dinner, but would do well with a nice, lean cut of meat. Nice, spicy noite lingering on the finish.

Decanted for 1.5 hours, consumed over the following 3 hours.
Dark ruby/garnet in colour, with medium to full body. Somewhat watery in the mouth. Although subdued at first, nose shows red currant, spices, tobacco, graphite, soy, vanilla and oak. Palate is more simplistic with dark fruits and oak. Medium acid with low to moderate tannin. Not overly impressive or interesting.

Drank it a couple of days ago, so this might be a little vague. Another case of having a bottle open for a couple of days before it really comes together. By the third day, it was spectacular. Classic Bordeaux, with plenty of body and fruit. An absolute steal at $36 CAD.

2nd wine of the chateau. Drinking nicely now. Medium weight Medoc, smooth tannins, light oak smokiness, plum and berries and a very clean finish.
